TOKYO--According to the latest Famitsu magazine, Capcom will release the upcoming arcade game Mobile Suit Gundam Z: AEUG vs. Titans on the PlayStation 2 in December. Gundam Z is the sequel to Mobile Suit Gundam: Federation vs. Zeon, which was released in arcades in 2001 and later on the PS2.

Gundam Z takes place seven years after the previous Gundam game and will have new mechs and stages. Similar to the previous title, Gundam Z will be a 3D multiplayer mech battle game that involves shooting and close-up combat on an open field. Up to four players can play simultaneously, with two players on the AEUG team and two on the Titans team. Computer-controlled players will fill empty player slots.

The PlayStation 2 release will support online gameplay through both broadband and dial-up connections. Capcom plans to charge a flat rate of 900 yen (about $7.74) per month for its broadband game service and 10-13 yen per minute for dial-up support in Japan. Mobile Suit Gundam Z: AEUG vs. Titans for the PlayStation 2 is 85 percent complete and is scheduled for release on December 4 at a price of 6,800 yen (about $58.55).
