MLB 2005 steps up to the plate

Today, 989 Studios unveiled MLB 2005, the latest installment in their long-running baseball franchise. The game will take the field on PlayStations and PlayStation 2s next March, and will sport a variety of features, including:

  1. zone-control batting
  2. pressure-sensitive pitching
  3. hot/cold streaks
  4. mound visits
  5. true-trajectory ball physics
  6. improved AI
  7. reworked character models
  8. new camera angles
  9. cut offs and run-downs
  10. franchise mode
  11. career mode
  12. player creation
  13. game-simulation bode
  14. online play via 989SportsOnline
  15. new three-man commentary from ESPN's Dave Campbell, the San Diego Padres' Matt Vasgersian, and Hall of Famer Vin Scully.
