Missing is the latest of the new adventure games announced by The Adventure Company on the eve of E3. An M-rated game, Missing is the story of a journalist (your character) caught in a gruesome murder mystery.

Intriguingly, Missing promises to deliver a blend of traditional adventure gameplay and the Internet, meaning that you will use your Web browser to pursue leads. The Adventure Company says that it will use a mix of 300 real and simulated Web sites. In addition, the game will pack more than 100 puzzles and games.

Eventually, you’ll interact with virtual characters and “The Phoenix,” the mysterious serial killer responsible for the murder spree. The game will also include approximately 45 minutes of video footage with a cast of professional actors. The video footage will be presented as a disturbing CD delivered to the journalist’s production company.

Missing is scheduled to ship this summer for the PC.
