Minute to Win It Kinect-ing this year - Retail Radar

Amazon, Wal-Mart, and GameFly listings indicate NBC's challenge show getting Kinect-enabled game treatment later this year.

NBC's Minute to Win It tasks participants with completing a series of 60-second challenges in the hopes of walking away with the grand prize of $1,000,000. And according to various retailers, gamers will soon have a chance to play the game…but not win the money.

A shot from the Wii version of Minute to Win It.

According to retailer listings at Amazon, Wal-Mart, and GameFly, Zoo Games is bringing a title based on the television show to the Xbox 360 Kinect by the end of the year. Additionally, all listings indicate that Minute to Win It for the Kinect will cost $40. Minute to Win It for the Kinect has not been officially announced as of press time.

If the listings are accurate, Minute to Win It for the Kinect will join previously released Minute to Win It games that arrived on Nintendo's DS and Wii in 2010. Additionally, an iPhone version of Minute to Win It is currently available.

Minute to Win It is hosted by Guy Fieri, the leading man of Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Past challenges on the show include balancing six dice held on a popsicle stick in a participant's mouth, throwing a playing card into a watermelon, and stacking three golf balls on top of each other.

The biggest challenge in "Minute To Win It" is not to beat the living tar out of Guy Fieri. The man never shuts up and never has anything worth hearing. I actually watch "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives" muted so I don't have to listen to him.

If they release a Kinect enabled 1 Vs. 100 I will get that, however this doesn't sound like it will be very good.

I just don't think this is the type of game most Kinect users are waiting for, but that could just be me. Kinect has only a hand full of good games, which is sad, because I really do love the unit (thank God for Eden), and I just want to see Microsoft do the right thing by getting developers that will take good advantage of the hardware to bring something awesome out!

The whole point of the show is using easily accessible household items so that you can play at home. Why make a game about this?

A show based on drinking games (without the drinking) broken down into 60 second intervals...nice

With Kinect + Minute to Win it, this could be fun! Can't wait to see previews or a demo.
