The eighth update to Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition is aiming to live on consoles before the end of January, according to a tweet by developer 4J Studios, but the team needs "to wait and see how it does in Cert Testing."

Chief amongst the additions are a suite of crash fixes, some tweaks to Love Mode, and changes so Blazes now drop Glowstone Dust alongside Blaze Rods. The full patch notes are below.

4J Studios previously said The End, an alternate plane of the Minecraft world which features floating islands and is the homeworld of the Endermen, would feature in TU8, but this has now been pushed back to TU9.

If this were other than on the worst platform of this generation I would raise the pertinent question of whether there is a fix for the mind-numbing boredom that characterizes the repetitive gameplay...and of course whether that means it can FINALLY graduate to something other than an online social hub for middle schoolers!

I'm a little disappointed that The End wasn't added, but I'm absolutely thrilled that they're forcing the Nether to have Blaze Rods. I found an amazing world with an excellent seed and my friend and I had a few dozen hours put in before we went to the Nether and discovered no fortress and no Blaze Rods, which completely spoiled even having the world. Now that it's forced, I'll have to copy that seed over and start everything from scratch again.

I just wish I didn't have to start my whole game from scratch. I put a lot of love and dedication into the interior decor of our home. I just hope The End doesn't force us to start a new world yet again. It took me long enough find 5 slime balls to make Sticky pistons for my Obsidian generator. I'm already dreading making it a second time and I don't want to make it a third.

I've got a fix for them!  How about making it so mobs don't spawn in my house everytime I sleep!?

I thought Microsoft didn't allow free updates? Several games that had free updates for PC games forced Xbox players to pay for them.

So its just a patch, but a sorely needed one.

Hmm I didn't even knew they have added experience points already! I need to get back to it ASAP.

How about fixing the water texture that has made half the water in my world a different (albeit more realistic) colour to the rest.

@tgwolfI like how you try to sound smart by using words like "pertinent", while you type nonsensical ramblings like "If this were other than on the worst platform". Yes, you're too smart and mature for Minecraft.... which totally gives you away as being about 15, insecure, and trying to prove how "grown up" you are by playing totally bloody games with lots of bad words. But try not too worry too much, you'll start growing hair in weird places soon!

There was another update patch for SSF4 you could download for FREE. No MS does not charge for every piece of DLC.

@Shingetsu that difference in water color you're seeing is the borders of two biomes meeting each other. Most likely a standard biome meeting the darker water of a jungle biome.

Go to your settings in the game. Your x and y axis sensitivities has likely reset to 0. It happened to me once. I had to poke around in the options a bit to notice what had happened.

@queuing_for_PS4 uuhh.......Minecraft is an indie game dude...the entire concept is based on modding, patching and ect.

Any sony exclusives might not have many problems but pretty much all cross platform games have more problems on the playstation than the x-box. Skyrim case in point.

@queuing_for_PS4 I don't think you fully understand how Minecraft works. It is not a finished game, especially on the Xbox. The developers are updating behind the PC version with the intent of both reaching the same level. What is wrong with fixing bugs? I'm glad there is a staff that still cares to work and improve the game. I'm glad they give somewhat regular updates instead of leaving the game to die. Just my thoughts.

@obsequies - PortalJumper93 is right. If you have lots of Xbox friends, or like 4 player local multiplayer then this is a good option. But if you have a PC, and those reasons aren't convincing to you, there is no reason to get near this game at all on the X360.

PortalJumper93

@obsequies It's a lot easier to play with friends. Other than that PC version owns this version. (I own both versions)

@TheArcade That's good, although we PC gamers seem to get much more free updates than Xboxers and it's weird that companies can't give something for free to every system, if they want to. I don't know how frequent that is, but it's just a feeling that this, a free update, isn't very common for Xboxers.

@Hurvl @TheArcade I Think you are confusing Free updates with DLC. You dont pay for Update patches on the X-Box you do pay for DLC (unless its free content DLC) exactly the same as with the PC and Playstation.

@Hurvl @TheArcade I've had an Xbox for five years, and never have I ever had to pay for an update to a game. I do believe you are thinking of add-ons.

@queuing_for_PS4 @Blazvatan NO, NO, NO, Gears of War 2 was almost perfect at launch with the exception of a few minor glitches. When they tried to fix the glitches they messed the game up even worse.

@queuing_for_PS4 @Blazvatan The concept of minecraft is that it is in consant 'Beta'. It is everchanging, ever growing and cannot be held to the same paradigms as other games.

@queuing_for_PS4 @Blazvatan PS3 is the most buggy console in video game history!
