Minecraft Creator's New $70m Beverly Hills Mansion, Rebuilt in Minecraft

It's probably a little cheaper.

Earlier this week we learned that Minecraft creator Markus "Notch" Persson purchased a mansion in Beverly Hills, California for $70 million, which Beyonce and Jay-Z were supposedly trying to buy as well.

You can actually see a video tour of the place here, but why settle for a boring, regular video, when you can watch a video tour of the mansion recreated in Minecraft.

That's right, only a couple of days after we learned about Notch's new digs, British Minecrafter Dan Bovey already rebuilt a pretty accurate version of the Los Angeles mansion, which you can see in the video above.

Persson owned a 70 percent stake in Sweden-based developer Mojang when it was sold to Microsoft for $2.5 billion in September this year. He would have made approximately $1.75 billion as a result of the deal. Following the sale, Persson, along with chief executive Carl Manneh and co-founder Jakob Porser, departed the company. The deal saw Mojang join other internal Microsoft game studios including 343 Industries (Halo), Black Tusk Studios (Gears of War), Lionhead Studios (Fable), and Turn 10 Studios (Forza).
