Minecraft coming to Xbox One

Microsoft reveals open-world creation game launching on next-generation platform.

Minecraft is coming to the Xbox One. Today during Microsoft's 2013 Electronic Entertainment Expo briefing, Xbox executive Phil Harrison revealed that Mojang's popular creation game will launch on the next-generation platform as Minecraft: Xbox One Edition.

No release date or price for the game was provided.

Minecraft on the Xbox has already proven popular. The original Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition has sold over 6 million copies and remains a top seller on Xbox Live Arcade.

More to come...

Unless they add some serious upgrades to MC, I wouldn't even bother. Even then the PC version is far better.

I just don't know if the hardware is going to be powerful enough to run this game.  I mean, come ON, these are state of the art graphics, circa 1985!!

Why the hell do people like this game so much?  It looks even worse than the original Doom.  You couldn't pay me enough money to waste hours playing this game.

Why play the PC version now when you can spend $500+ to do it in the future with the exact same graphics?

Microsoft SHOULD make it available at around $10 or $15 for us poor saps who bought the 360 version.

But they probably won't.

Why not just get Minecraft on a computer, where you'll not only have more customization options via texturepacks and mods, but be able to run it better as well?

@Aphyosemion Actually current gen 360 can't handle the PC version.  PC the maps are unlimited, never ending!!!

@plm3d_basic Its not about the graphics, its about the gameplay. Its fun with friends, and you can create things, its a fun experience.

@hobotech64 And don't forget that the XONE will feature no mods, skins, custom worlds or texture packs at all

@Winzent

No dude....this one is different. Its an HD Remake of a 360 game that will only cost you 20 bucks since it can;t emulate the original since its so demanding......sike. This is the question to everyones answers of what happenes to all of my old Live games I downloaded. Well, here is your answer and what you'll have to be doing to play those old games.

=-)

@tkdmmc @Navardo95 Ya at the very least they could have upgraded the visuals if they were going to bring it for the One..
