MineCon 2013 hits Orlando November 2-3

Third all-things-Minecraft event coming to Florida later this year; tickets on sale next month.

MineCon 2013 will take place November 2-3 in Orlando, Florida, Mojang announced today.

The exact venue for the all-things-Minecraft event was not disclosed, though Mojang said tickets and hotel rooms will be on sale beginning in July.

This year's event will be the third MineCon in as many years. The first show took place in 2011 in Las Vegas, while 2012's event was held at Disneyland Paris.

DisneyWorld is located in Orlando, Florida.

Past MineCons have featured keynote speeches, build contests, breakout classes concerning various Minecraft topics, and costume contests

Minecraft for the PC/Mac/Linux recently marked a sales milestone, crossing 11 million copies sold to date.

Minecraft is a really overrated mediocre game, I think its pretty lame to go to a convention for one game too.

Props to Mojang for actually having this event every year. It can't really be profitable for them (other than indirect marketing)

WarCraft == MineCraft

BlizzCon == MineCon

@Helios_Sun

I've never been to MineCon, but I imagine that sooner or later it will become a general Mojang convention (if it hasn't done so already) .

@Helios_Sun its the third annual Minecon ;) ya you heard right, its the third year of Minecon :)

the 4th if you count the one in 2010 but that was not a real convention. it was just a gathering of Minecraft fans on a Minecraft Classic server.

And before someone says ticket revenue - the event costs more than that revenue. They have said this.

@SlayerX13@zaboon_Hmm... I sure hope so. Since when is having an idea, having the guts, determination and work ethic to follow through on that idea, providing over 20 Million gamers a great game for a bottom dollar price of $20- $25 and getting filthy, stinking rich a "bad" thing? Dammit, I hope they ARE hemorrhaging cash. They deserve every penny they have made. Why has it become so fashionable to hate on people that make a ton of money (especially after taking a huge risk)? It must be jealousy, there is no other explanation. I will be taking my son to MineCon this year and I don't give a rats a$$ if you guys make a ton of money on the event or not. I hope you guys make a billion more dollars! Congrats on a job well done, Mojang!
