Mind-Bender Donnie Darko Returns To Theaters For Its 15th Anniversary

The time-travel end-times movie comes to theaters again in March.

The cult classic mind-bending, time-travelling, creepy-rabbit-featuring movie Donnie Darko is headed back to theaters to celebrate its 15th anniversary.

According to Entertainment Weekly, a 4K version of the 2001 Jake Gyllenhaal-starring film will come to theaters on March 31, at Cinefamily in Los Angeles and the Metrograph in New York. It will also play that week at theaters in Denver, Columbus, Pittsburgh, Phoenix, and San Francisco.

The next week, Donnie Darko will screen at Cinema Detroit in Detroit and the Alamo Drafthouse Montecillo in El Paso. Additionally, the movie will play at theaters in Jacksonville, Austin, Dallas, and Baton Rouge.

Some of the cast members will attend a premiere on March 30 at the Vista Theatre in Los Angeles.

In addition to Gyllenhaal, Donnie Darko stars James Duval as the rabbit Frank who tells Gyllenhaal's character about the forthcoming end of the world. Gyllenhaal's real-life sister, Maggie Gyllenhaal, plays his sister in the movie. It also stars Drew Barrymore, Noah Wyle, Patrick Swayze, and Jena Malone.
