Millenium management released a statement, announcing the departure of their League of Legends squad. The news does not come as a surprise as the team was first defeated by Unicorns of Love in the Promotion/Relegation series and once more, by Giants Gaming in the Expansion tournament. Post the latter, newest additions Ryu and H0R0 expressed their desire to try their luck in a different team which prompted the choice to close down the LoL divison.

Team manager Jean-Marc "Bjoran" Gaudin shared on the Millenium website that every piece of infrastructure was provided including a gaming house and an experienced coaching staff, but it in the end "that's sport".

With Millenium.LoL closing its doors, we are still in the dark as to what will happen to the remaining players. As of this moment, only Ryu has found a potential home as Team ROCCAT will be using the experienced mid laner in the IEM Cologne tournament later this month.

Millenium is home to some of the most legendary names in the European League of Legends scene. The organization's first squad featured star names such as YellowStar (as an AD Carry back then), top lane powerhouse sOAZ and old-school players ShLaYa, MoMa and Linak. Over the years, the team saw many line-ups come and go. Despite the instability, the next heirs of the MIL banner included hyrqbot, Tabzz, Creaton, Angush, Vander, Migxaa and ImSoFresh.

The ex-Millenium squad included the following:

  • Kevin 'Kev1n' Rubiszewski - Top
  • Cho 'H0R0' Jae-hwan - Jungler
  • Ryu 'Ryu' Sang-wook - Mid
  • Jakub 'Creaton' Grzegorzewski - AD Carry
  • Alexander 'Jree' Bergstrom - Support
