Military Madness breaks out on WiiWare

Hudson has most notably been associated with the Wii in recent years. However, for its turn-based strategy sim Military Madness: Nectaris, Nintendo's console is the last to see the classic update. As part of its weekly online update, Nintendo has added Hudson's Military Madness to WiiWare, along with four new DSiWare games and Zaxxon for the Virtual Console.

Military Madness on WiiWare will at its core stay true to the original game, which saw first release on the TurboGrafx-16 in 1989. The 1,000 Wii point ($10) update has been given a graphical overhaul, as well as a new commander unit, online team and vs. multiplayer modes, and other new features. The strategy title accommodates play for up to four.

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars may not have been a smash success, but gangster gamers now have a new option on the DS with Gangstar 2: Kings of LA. Available for 500 DSi points ($5), Kings of LA includes 75 crime-fueled missions set in the City of Angels and its surrounding areas.

Gamers looking to take to the skies can pick up AiRace for 800 DSi points ($8). QubicGames' flight game features nine planes and supports up to six players. Meanwhile, Mad Monkey Studios' AlphaBounce adds a role-playing game storyline to the classic Breakout formula and is available for 500 DSi points ($7). Lastly, one more card-game compilation heads to DSiWare, as cerasus.media's 7 Card Games goes online for 500 DSi points ($5).

Sega's arcade classic Zaxxon heads to the Virtual Console for 800 Wii points ($8). The side-scrolling shooter is known for its "three-dimensional-like" gameplay, where players could pilot their ships on left-and-right as well as up-and-down fields.
