Comments

EA Sports announced yesterday that it has signed seven-time All Star catcher Mike Piazza to be its latest spokesperson for the Triple Play series. His likeness will grace the covers of Triple Play starting with the upcoming Triple Play 2001.

Says Bob Aniello, vice president of EA Sports marketing, "Triple Play 2001 boasts big hitting and authentic fielding that raises the bar for interactive baseball games, and Piazza is the major-league baseball-player equivalent. He excels at his job and brings up the quality of play in his teammates and competitors."

Triple Play 2001 is scheduled to release in time for the upcoming baseball season, and it will for the first time bring the legends of baseball to the interactive game. Among the all-time great names that will appear in Triple Play 2001 are Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron, Cy Young, Lou Gehrig, Willie Mays, Mickey Mantle, and others.

As more information becomes available on Triple Play 2001 we will bring you updates.
