The characters are not aging gracefully.

Writer-director Mike Judge (Silicon Valley) has shared a status update and also a first look at the upcoming Beavis and Butt-Head movie.

As when the movie was first announced in February 2021, the premiere, premise, and production schedule is still not yet known. But nearly a full year later, Judge took to Twitter to confirm the Paramount+ film will release in 2022--and though there's "no exact date yet," one will be announced "soon." Explained Judge, "Beavis and Butt-Head… need some time to get back in shape." Check out the image Judge shared below, presumably from the movie, demonstrating what he means.

This is the second Beavis and Butt-Head feature film, following the 1996 theatrical movie, Beavis and Butt-Head Do America. As announced back in 2020, the titular (huh-huh) characters will also return for two seasons on Comedy Central. No release date for the new Beavis and Butt-Head seasons has been given, nor do we know how many new episodes are coming. Judge is set to write, produce, and act for the revival episodes.

"It seemed like the time was right to get stupid again," said Judge in a statement.

Beavis and Butt-Head originally aired on MTV from 1993-1997. These new seasons are not the first time the show has enjoyed a revival: In 2011, the series had an eighth season.
