Mighty Quest for Epic Loot beta open to public until August 6

Ubisoft to also unlock chicken castle defense item update if players can kill 10 million chickens during the "open house" period.

by

Ubisoft announced that it will be hosting an "open house" event for its free-to-play PC title The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot.

It's clear that Ubisoft is biased against poultry.

From July 30 at 10am EST to August 6, players can check out the action-RPG and dungeon-builder hybrid while it is still in closed beta. Gamers can do so by signing up via Ubisoft's Uplay service.

Ubisoft will also hold an in-game "Unleash the Chickens" contest. If online players around the world can kill off 10 million chickens during the "open house" period, they can unlock the chicken castle defense item in the next closed beta update. Players can find the chicken enemy type in abundance at the Castle Chicken Shack and Castle Chicken HQ which are at the game's Competition Zone.

The game is currently in closed beta. Players both fight in user-made dungeons in action-RPG style while also building their own to share online.

This game could have been something great. Sadly, it's not...

I like the concept of the game, but UPLAY is not going on my computer.

Also i doubt ubisoft can do a proper execution of a FTP game

It's an ok game. Too bad they ruined it in the last patch by making it pay2win.

Plus, they really don't know how to monetize their game properly. The entire game is built around the idea of opulency; where you are showing off how powerful and wealthy you are. Yet you can't even buy cosmetic stuff for your castle.

Ridiculous.

It gets boring after a while.

Use to be fairly decent, now it is COMPLETELY Pay2Win.

Lost all interest the moment they patched that shit in.

This game gets old extremely quickly, pretty mutch every castle gets the same, exceot a slightly different corridor, if they really want to keep it intresting it needs more customization and better loot, it was a game about looting gear, and in the patch i played in (with is now fixed) you could just simply BUY the best loot in youre blacksmith

this space is getting crowded.  I can't imagine this game is going to be better than Torchlight 2 or Path of Exile.

TB did a follow-up video on this, after the devs came out with a patch that let's you buy everything with real money. is this still the case?

either way, i saw a ton of twitch footage of this game and its full of cheese/exploits that make the game pointless to play. power-leveling yourself is easy and free, so there's no reason to spend real money on this game.

Also, check out Totalbiscuits WTF episode for this game, it actually appears to have a lot more depth than first glance. I probably still won't bother, unless my backlog drops off dramatically between now and then.

@blackothh You don't have to install uplay, the game uses his own launcher.

@Skhuff Disagree, been playing beta for a month and I'm loving it ^^

@WolfGrey Oh what a load of rubbish, you gain nothing but boosts from paying real cash and you earn dungeon upgrades earlier. THAT'S ALL! You cannot buy elite weapons, armor, monsters etc.

People need to stop spewing this grade "A" bs because it's entirely false.

IncisionX

@demondogx Not the case anymore, you can only earn the best gear by taking down elite monsters in players dungeons.

@nait2k4

Check his update on it....it went Pay2Win. All the way.

@Mr_BillGates It's actually not bad if you try it out. Played the first open beta and was surprised by it. I enjoyed it, been waiting for their second to open up.

@ESB in that case, i should look further into this, thanks for the info!

@IncisionX @WolfGrey It's completely true actually. You can defend your own castle better if you pay.

End of argument.

demondogx

@IncisionX @demondogx Ah well thats definatly a good improvement, as that was more pay 2 win then anything i saw from tb's vid fo the new patch, being able to just buy the best gear with bling had to go, but still this game couldent keep my intrest, maybe i will give it another try in a few months if there are new classes to explore and more customization for youre castle :)

@WolfGrey @wowgrandpa

No. it's not the case. There is literally no Pay2Win features currently in the game and they even announced they're dialing back the boosts possibly through real cash.

All cash does, is gets you from A to B quicker. You gain no extra monsters, no weapon/armor. All you do is do it faster ( Much like IP/Exp boosts on LoL Etc. )

@WolfGrey @nait2k4

Stop lying on every single comment WolfGrey, You're full of bullshit.

There is zero pay2win either then getting from A to B quicker. Hate the game for its faults not for made up "Facts".

@demondogx @IncisionX

Totally, it starts off fairly slowly but by level 10ish it really takes off, you see some uniquely design castles and you can shape yours greatly.

Thankfully the game breaking Pay2Win that once featured is entirely gone now ^^
