Following up on its 2902050announcement earlier this week that it would distribute Capcom's Steel Battalion in Europe, Microsoft has today announced that it will also be distributing two of Sega Europe's upcoming Xbox titles. Both ToeJam & Earl III and Shenmue II will be distributed by Microsoft in the first quarter of 2003.

"We're very excited about this new agreement with Sega," said Michel Cassius, director of Xbox Platform EMEA. "Both ToeJam & Earl III and Shenmue II are hotly anticipated titles from some of the industry's most renowned developers and we're pleased to be bringing them to Xbox gamers in Europe. They join a strong portfolio of Xbox titles that includes hit Sega games like Sega GT 2002 and Jet Set Radio Future--both available free in the Sega Christmas Pack offer we've developed with Sega. Sega has been a great partner for us and this agreement is a natural step in the development of our relationship."

"We are pleased to partner with Microsoft and are confident they will do justice to these great titles," said Naoya Tsurumi, president and COO of Sega Europe. "Microsoft will provide excellent distribution and marketing support for these titles, both of which have been on many gamers' wish lists for months. We look forward to these titles' success and the continuation of our excellent relationship with Microsoft."

Both ToeJam & Earl III and Shenmue II are already available in North America. For more information on these titles, check out our previous coverage of them using the links to the right.
