Not long after Sony introduced a new marketing slogan for the PlayStation 4 stating that the console is "where the greatest play," Microsoft has fired back with a fresh tagline of its own. Microsoft launched a new video today that claims, "With the best exclusives, spectacular new franchises, and the best multiplayer community, it's more fun on Xbox One."

Writing on the Xbox Wire, Microsoft says 2014 will be a "great year" for Xbox One owners, thanks in part to new games like Sunset Overdrive and Halo: The Master Chief Collection, as well as a $399 Xbox One bundle. That's a full $100 below the console's original price point, though the new bundle does not include a Kinect camera.

"Customer demand for the Xbox One video game console continues to remain high and we are thrilled with the accelerated pace of consumer adoption we are experiencing" -- GameStop president Tony Bartel

Retailer GameStop is also enthusiastic about the Xbox One's prospects this year.

"Customer demand for the Xbox One video game console continues to remain high and we are thrilled with the accelerated pace of consumer adoption we are experiencing," GameStop president Tony Bartel said in a statement. "With the new $399.99 version now available, we are seeing more traffic in our stores from customers who are ready to experience the next generation of Xbox gaming."

At E3 2014, GameStop told us that the new $399 Xbox One units were "flying off the shelves" just a day after they were introduced on June 9.

Microsoft has also published lists of all the games coming to Xbox One this year, including a total of 12 exclusive titles making their way to Microsoft's console. Meanwhile, dozens of multiplatform games like Assassin's Creed Unity, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Destiny, Grand Theft Auto V, and Far Cry 4 will come to Xbox One this year. "2014 is shaping up to be the most memorable year in Xbox history and we hope you're as excited as we are," Microsoft said.
