Washington-based Mforma has announced its acquisition of MobileGame Korea (MoGame), a leading developer and publisher of mobile games content in Korea. The transaction gives Mforma a permanent presence in Korea, and now MoGame has been renamed Mforma Korea.

"We see tremendous value in combining the resources of Mforma and MoGame and leveraging our respective strengths and assets to address the Asian mobile entertainment market," said Daniel Kranzler, CEO at Mforma. "Korea is the most advanced wireless marketplace in the world, and within Korea there is no better partner than MoGame, as they have been a true leader in creating and delivering top-quality products to the world's most demanding and sophisticated users. Mforma Korea represents a formidable combination of technology, resources, and content that provides wireless carriers with everything needed to be successful in providing mobile entertainment services."

"We are thrilled to be part of Mforma and look forward to taking full advantage of the many opportunities before us in Asia that are now possible with the combined resources of Mforma Group," added Gilbert Kim, president and CEO of Mforma Korea.

The merger announced today is the culmination of a two-year collaboration between the two companies, and Mforma Korea will continue to distribute Mforma's titles from around the world in Korea. Mforma Korea will also be responsible for aggregating content from hundreds of Korean developers for Mforma to distribute in China, Europe, and the US.
