Metal Slug 5 on the way?

Mega Enterprise displayed its upcoming arcade shooter, Metal Slug 4, at the AOU convention in Japan. The game sticks closely to the Metal Slug formula while adding two new characters to the mix. The game will hit Japanese arcades in mid-March, with worldwide distribution to follow in the coming months.

According to a Mega Enterprise representative at the show, no release for the NeoGeo home hardware is currently planned. Though the company has plans to revive several more of SNK's NeoGeo series, the next game on the company's plate is Metal Slug 5. Metal Slug 5 will not be released on the NeoGeo arcade hardware, and it could quite possibly come directly to modern consoles, the GBA, or the PC.
