Still getting it for PS4, and don't say it's not getting it since it's MetalGear ****ing Solid, which has always been on Playstation, and would never be Xbox nly. Also I assume it's still coming out on PS3 and 360, so its obvious that both next gens are getting it too.

No longer a Sony exclusive I see.... I have a buddy that loves Metal Gear but he only has a 360 so good news for him

They forgot to mention that the game would have 8 hrs gameplay and 50-60 hrs of cutscenes.

Makes sense. If the game (or Ground Zeros) was confirmed for the 360, then a One version seems to make sense.

Very interested by this talk of new stealth options. Hopefully this'll include more context sensitive moves like corner and ledge takedowns.

So, confirmed for xbox one but not for 360, right? I mean, besides the logos showed at the end of the OLD trailer, what confirmation we have of this? How can a game soooo big be supported by xbox 360? It would be weird considering kojima said that he couldn't do mgs4 for the 360 because it took a good amount of memory...

If this is not announced for pc like Ground zeros was i will be pissed. I love mgs, but pc is way more deserving then 360 and x1

Guys I'm not going to lie MGS 5 looks amazing but, fanboy skepticism, I still need time to get used to Kiefer Sutherland's voice. I believe he's doing a good job but again it's not the same without David Hayter.

I will still be plays MGSV on PS4.

The game looked good , I give them that , but believe me ,mgs is  one-nil down without David Hayter.

The trailer for this was awful. The music was atrocious and did not suit it at all the showing the character line up with the little description was probably the most corny thing I've ever seen.

if its not for the PC as well I will just skip it like I did with MGS4

Why did Kojima announce this for X1? I notice he doesn't announce anything for Sony's events. Did MS pay him more money to stay loyal to them? I don't really like that. It feels like he's abandoned PlayStation or something.

Any one else think that Ocelot sounds a lot like Will Arnett? Probably a huge leap but it definitely sounds like him in parts and I'll be keeping all my fingers crossed :P

Game looks absolutely amazing though. For me the next generation is about games, not consoles, and MGS5 easily looks like the biggest leap forward in terms of graphics, scope and gameplay. Everything else Microsoft showed today paled in comparison to MGS. Hopefully Sony will pull out some more games that look as 'next gen' as MGS5.

I was skeptical about Kiefer Sutherland playing Big Boss but after this I think he is going to do great.

My FLASH PLAYER ain't working... can't get to see the friggin E3. Oh well, just have to read out comments and updates.

They showed some really great games, but none of them, at least exclusives, felt like they were above the crap MS is trying to pull with X1. They need to answer those things as soon as possible with clear answers, not with some pr bullshit, if they think people will get actually interested in the console and why we should buy it over PS4.

ozm4n
ozm4n

Exclusivity isn't about being greedy. It's about being pissed off that a game has to be developed which can competently run on both consoles. We all know that the PS4 has more power, which means that MGS5 will be developed below its full potential, just so it can run on the X1.

That's depressing.

The graphics are amazing, but the new movement options (i.e. jumping and climbing walls), multiple vehicle controls, day/night cycle, and of course free roam, are what makes MGS V feel like a major leap forward for the series.

@voljin1987 Awesome, I'd never be able to buy an amazing looking 60 hour animated movie for $60, consider me sold. Also how would an open world game only be 8 hours long?

@Sheik2  confirmed for PS3, PS4, X360 and XOne.

MGS 4 was specifically designed for the PS3 architecture, plus, the game was about 50 GB.  Was too much work creating a 360 version.

tightwad34
tightwad34

@Bludders I thought this and Ground Zeros were the same game. Oh, man I feel so stupid now. So we really are getting two full MG games within the next couple of years or so? That's really good to hear.

Sam_021
Sam_021

@Bludders MGS series have always been about Playstation not PC/Xbox. It's great that it's going multi platform but don't expect too much!

tightwad34

@david_joseph93 I think Keifer is the perefect choice. He's a damn good actor who has a voice that makes him a natural for it. He's done a lot of voice acting work and has always been really good at it. He can get as gtritty as the best of them.

sa2bmaster
sa2bmaster

@david_joseph93I agree it will be a little getting used to, but Hayter may still be in the game, we still don't know if he's the only Snake or not in the game. Also, Big Boss had another voice before in MGS4.

cursealoud

@dpsuurhoff  Are you an imbecile? Every MGS game has music like that. MGS was actually the best looking game at the whole conference today. You are obviously an idiot that has never played the game or know anything about the franchise

brainiac1988
brainiac1988

@zowbaid  nah MS just gave him a bunch of money to show his face for 10 seconds.

The fact that MS opened the show with this multiplatform title speaks for itself.

@toolpwn It was the best of show, but The Division was just as good. Titan Fall was good too.

@Stebsis I think Microsoft has provided some concrete answers.  It's just that people don't like the answers they've given so far.

Rajiv_psn

@ozm4n How about developing MGS5 for PS4 first and then scaling it down for Xbox?

zowbaid
zowbaid

@Chronolp27GS That's the awesome thing about the MGS series. Every game is always a huge leap forward from its predecessor in sooo many aspects. They never just stick to the same thing and leave it at that like so many other games do.

cursealoud
cursealoud

@sa2bmaster He's not in the game. This isn't a magic trick where misdirection is used. He is not playing Snake. Secondly, did you hear his voice in MGS 4? He was starting to crack when using the voice. Kojima wants more facial expression and less on the narrative. Sutherland is an actor and Hayter is a screen writer

cursealoud
cursealoud

@Chronolp27GS  Whaaaaat?! They were completely owned by Sony. They made all the wrong moves and they will pay for it. From the price point to the DRM to wanting a piece of the pie for used games sales. They are fucked

ozm4n
ozm4n

@Rajiv_psn @ozm4n I genuinely hope so... Downscaling works quite well from a graphics standpoint, but other things like gameplay engine, physics, AI and other calculations are all based on other hardware components, which PS4 excels at.

So even after downscaling the graphics, I still don't think the game would be the same as if it were a PS4 exclusive.

zowbaid
zowbaid

@Rajiv_psn @ozm4n I think that's what's going to happen? I've never seen a PC game that had the same graphics as the console ones...They always scale down the better looking game to work on weaker consoles.
