Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance drops to $30

Jetstream and Blade Wolf DLC also included with game at new price point.

The Platinum Games-developed action game Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will be sold at the reduced price of $30 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 beginning today, Konami announced this afternoon.

Included at the new, lower price point is the Jetstream and Blade Wolf downloadable content at no extra cost, Konami said. Players will be prompted to download the content from Xbox Live or PlayStation Network when they boot up their games.

The Jetstream DLC is a multi-hour expansion that features Samuel Rodriguez as a playable character. Meanwhile, the Blade Wolf DLC is a side story where gamers play as LQ-84i.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance was released for Xbox 360 and PS3 in February. A PC version is "looking good," according to series creator Hideo Kojima, but does not yet have a release date.

Everybody already said, probably.

But it's free for PSN+ member. I'm playing it (not rubbing, but come on, for free), and it's a blast.

It's a Vanquish with swords.

But 30 bucks it still too much money for a game so short.

But I just bought it on sale for around just over 30 last month with no dlc...

Digital console sale prices are a joke and a clear indication of the draconian, anti consumer, cloud gaming, 100% control future.  I got this game for 12 Euro at my local HMV. When it all goes digital, say goodbye to competitive game sales. They can charge whatever they like.

Even if its free I´ll drop it to trash

I want to play this game at 1080p

I was looking forward to this game at one point but they've taken so long to release it on PC I guess I'll just grab it for 3 dollars on a steam summer sale or something, wouldn't even pay 30 dollars for it at this point.

I will save you 30$. this game is crap! Cheesy japaense crap!

The ending is so stupid and ridiculous. "Stupid American Evil Politician" ala SUPER SUMO WRESTLER? WHAT?! Metal Gear me thinks not.

The blocking/parry system drove me nuts. Otherwise i liked this game.

I don't think they could've come up with more turbo f@ggot-looking main character.

Anime features, white hair, fat hips, and heels..... Ewwwwwwwww.

Nice deal, too bad it doesn't apply to ALL DLC, and the pre-order stuff is still there to stay. I with this comes to Europe.

Waiting for the best of the best platform release, kojima. **PC** where is it? I'm joking take your time. I hope to see major differences from consoles. a better game that is.

I thought this game was very enjoyable, especially some of the boss fights. If only Platinum Games had the game from the start, then maybe it could've turned out even better.

They were only given 14 months to finish it.

They should announce that they ain't doing it for pc , or announce release date at least ..........

A companion dog? Total ripoff of Ghosts. I'm not going to buy this.

When it gets released for PC, will definitely pick it up..., you know, if it actually does end up getting released in the end and not fade into obscurity.

Nah, I'm good. Just got it for free with PS+ this month, so it beats 30$

Is this worth getting?

I love MGS but never felt the need to buy this game.

Should I buy it now that its cheap?

Even though this wasnt the average Metal Gear game it was still really fun to play. $30 is a great deal for this game.

Good news for me - I haven't picked it up yet, though it has been on my list. And as it has been stated by a few others; clarification in regards to the dlc addition would be great, though, I suppose that can be found out eventually through other means.

So, are they re-releasing this game with DLC, or is the DLC now free to download? This article is kind of confusing.

@billzihang From a PC gamer, no need. The action is so frantic in PS3 that you'll not even notice, since the game doesn't stutter (like DMC in consoles, unfortunately).

We meet again.

@inaka_rob This is exactly what the game is meant to be about. You just confirmed its success.

@lbob007 Oh yeah certainly, keep your fingers crossed, and maybe it won't be a horrible port, just a bad one.

@Diegoctba your joking right?  work on Metal Gear revengence began sometime before 2009 ,  where as cod ghosts isn't even out yet and  was only developed about a year ago. all COD games are made in a year's time cause they rehash everything including the graphics engine with a  few minor additions... ghosts is more of  a rip off of the dog thing.

@Penguinlord1 It can take as long as it needs to, as long as the PC version is (Metal Gear) Solid.

@GH05T-666 no. it ruins the MGS universe. Makes no sense within the MGS universe. WHY DOES EVERYONE HAVE SWORDS?

PumpkinBoogie

@pound-u Both of your statements are true and correct. The game will eventually be re-released w/ DLC included but also for those that have previously purchased the game, or for the retail copies that are still on the market now, the DLC that you once had to pay for in whatever respective systems' store your frequent--PSN or XBL--are now listed as 'Free', indefinitely.

PSYCHOV3N0M
PSYCHOV3N0M

@pound-u Not confusing at all. Both DLCs will come with this $30 version though not sure if it's on disc or if it'll come in the form of 2 DLC codes to redeem online.

You must have missed the point where he didn't mention ps3 at all, and that he is possibly just a pc gamer and so Steam would be a great idea for him to purchase the game on at a reduced cost.

And yeah, it's never worth 30 dollars. Can hardly call it a metal gear game really.

yoda101280
yoda101280

@HowlPendragon There's nothing entitled about what I said, this game came out almost a year ago and there was a PC version planned at that time that still isn't out.  It is not entitled to actually expect a port within a year.  Beyond that your comment is silly so I won't even bother addressing it.

@Bellum_Sacrum @lbob007 You know, trolling aside, I too would rather play this on PC (particularly via Steam), but Bellum raises a valid point. Japanese companies are not that great with porting. Dark Souls for example is a master piece for me, I have it both on PC and PS3 (in this case I played console the most). I got so excited when they announced the PC version that I jumped right in and got it on Steam. However, the graphics were not that great and the controls were sloppy (got an 360 PC controller which fixed the problem, but the graphics didn't really shine without a specific upscaling mod). I am not even going to start complaining about Games for Windows or I will never end this post, I just hate it a lot.

I do prefer PC when given the option because I can really push the graphics to the extreme, and with a console controller action-adventure games are pretty awesome. However, back to the Dark Souls issue, the gain was so little I admit I might have kept playing PS3 version only.

As an owner of all 4 platforms from the passing generation (the Wii belongs to my wife, but still, we have it), I prefer the modding, graphics and freedom that PC brings, but I don't think consoles are garbage either as I use them to play exclusives and they are pretty good IMO and I depended on them solely for 5 years. They did their job.

My only concern is that as a Metal Gear fan, this game does not feel right for me. I have seen reviews, friends comments but it doesn't really work for me. I don't like the main character (I would prefer he wasn't even introduced to begin with) and I prefer stealth action over all-action. It does feel cheesy and steeping away from the roots.

With that said, do you guys thing this game is worth 30 bucks? I mean, I could be wrong, maybe it is an awesome game but I don't feel like it is as a Metal Gear fan. Thanks!

@thekazumalord @Diegoctba I think they get two years, in fact, what with them alternating Infinity Ward CoD's and Treyarch CoD's. If IW releases a CoD in 2011, then Treyarch releases in 2012 and then IW releases another in 2013. The result might still feel rehashed and same-same, but they don't just get one year.

@inaka_robquiet frankly you DONT understand MGS universe...  MGR is consider like a spin-off series even though the story takes place after MGS4...  just because you dont understand it does not mean it ruins the series. So go back to your corner and hide and ohhh please do shut up !

@Shin_Gallon @commanderxp90 If you are PS Plus, then you will be able to get this game for free unless you feel more bored, then go for it with your bucks away. I know everything is free that will be very nice.
