Melbourne Symphony Orchestra takes on iconic gaming tunes
Video Games Unplugged: Symphony of Legends will feature music from Skyrim, BioShock 2, Final Fantasy VII, Assassin's Creed II, Diablo III, and Starcraft II; playing April 12 in Melbourne.
The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra will be paying tribute to some of the most memorable and well-loved video game music from the last 10 years in a live concert this April.
Video Games Unplugged: Symphony of Legends will feature music from leading games of the last 10 years, including The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, BioShock 2, Final Fantasy VII, Uncharted 2 and 3, Assassin's Creed II, SoulCalibur V, Civilization IV, Secret of Mana, Heavy Rain, World of Warcraft, Diablo III, and Starcraft II.
The night will be hosted by Scott Kurtz and Kris Straub of Penny Arcade TV's The Scott and Kris Show. Wil Wheaton (Toy Soldiers, Stand By Me, Star Trek: The Next Generation, and The Big Bang Theory) will also make an appearance on the night.
The concert will feature backdrop displays with gameplay footage and cutscenes, as well as solos by musicians who played music on the original games.
Video Games Unplugged: Symphony of Legends will be held on Thursday, April 12, at 7pm at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre. Tickets range from $49 to $139 for adults, and $29 to $79 for concessions. More information and to make a booking can be found here.
