Mega Man Zero collecting on DS

Capcom bringing highly regarded GBA quartet to Nintendo's newest handheld with new modes early this summer.

The Mega Man Zero series enjoyed significant critical acclaim and commercial success on the Game Boy Advance in the early-to-mid 2000s. Now, Capcom is giving the franchise a second run by rereleasing all four original GBA games on one Nintendo DS cart. The Mega Man Zero Collection is expected to arrive for the DS early this summer.

Neo Arcadia has a giant spiky ball infestation.

Released for the GBA in 2002, the original Mega Man Zero takes place 100 years after the events in the Mega Man X series. The 2D spin-off platformer swaps out the Blue Bomber for new hero Zero, a robot with weapons that include the Z-sabor sword and the Buster Shot hand cannon. The game introduces the diabolic Neo Arcadia government, and Zero embarks on a quest to save robot-kind.

Zero 2 picks up after the events in the first game, with Neo Arcadia continuing to cause strife between humans and robots. By the third installment in the series, the Neo Arcadia regime has been overthrown, but the region faces a new threat due to the machinations of an evil, brainwashing robot. Mega Man Zero 4 concludes the series, as Zero fights to restore balance to Neo Arcadia, again, for the final time.

Capcom did not reveal pricing information for the Mega Man Zero Collection. However, the publisher did promise that the DS installment will have new, unspecified modes.

I always wanted to play at least one of these games, but never got around to getting one. I've heard great things about them, and just reading comments here I'm excited for it.

I've never played Mega Man Zero! But now I will have all 4 on 1 card!

MarioStar0001: You mean 1-8? That might be difficult to put on a card. It might be easier to put them on an SD-card but I'm not sure if you could put 1-8 on a small DS card.

I wonder if there will be another installment in the Zero series. Maybe that's why they're bringing this out now. Perhaps there will be another reason to begin it again. I've never played them, so I'm REALLY looking forward to finally being able to play them. So... wait. There's Zero, Zero 2, then Z and ZX? That's all right?

Zero was not bad 2+ meh.... MMX died after 2 or 3...... They really need to bring mega man into 3D MML was a great but unpolished game, polish it up so its FPS elite "I like customizing my buttons" and" auto aim noob" compatible mix in Zelda and lost planet themes its pure win!

The series peaked at X but still, this was pretty good and one of the best megaman series, behind the original megaman and x.

I always found these games more enjoyable then the original Mega Man X games. Must be because I like Zero so much.

Sweet! Played almost through the first one after finding a cart at a reseller, and found it quite fun. It'll be nice to have the foursome in one package. Wonder what other enhancements will be made for the DS package?

Sounds Sweeeeet. But Q3? WTH? It shouldn't take them too much time to program some bosses, they have like 80% of the game ready.

Really solid Mega Man games, I was very impressed by them....barring the insane difficulty anyway, lol. I feel like I need to play some Demon's Souls or Contra 4 as a warm up for when this collection comes out.
