Mega Man Zero 2 E3 2003 Preshow Report

Capcom is bringing the second game in the Mega Man Zero series to North America.

With the Mega Man franchise smack-dab in the middle of its 15th year, Capcom has several new games set in the robot-filled universe in development. One of these games is Mega Man Zero 2, a follow-up to last year's game starring Zero, a sword-toting robot who must go up against the evil organization known as Neo Arcadia.

The most drastic change in Mega Man Zero 2 appears to be that Zero will change forms as the game progresses. Depending on your play style, Zero will earn a number of different powers, and different forms are hidden throughout the game. Also in the power-up department are the special skills of the game's boss characters, which Zero can earn if you beat levels with a high rating. The cyber-elf system from the first game also returns here, with plenty of new elves to find and easier ways to use them.

Mega Man Zero 2 will link up for two-player battles in various modes, one of which is a simultaneous race through a variety of stages. Mega Man Zero 2 is scheduled to hit stores in October.
