Electronic Arts held on to the top spots in NPD Techworld's latest weekly list of best-selling games. Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, the publisher's latest World War II action game, took first place for the fourth week in a row, followed by The Sims: Hot Date, EA's latest virtual-life game expansion. Serious Sam: The Second Encounter, GodGames' over-the-top first-person shooter sequel, jumped up to third place from eighth place the week before.
The Sims, EA's best-selling virtual-life game, came in fourth place, followed by Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, EA's adventure game based on the popular J.K. Rowling fantasy novel of the same name. Sierra's stock car racing game NASCAR Racing 2002 Season debuted in sixth place, and EA's role-playing game expansion Ultima Online: Lord Blackthorn's Revenge debuted in ninth place.
