Microsoft Game Studios has announced that two multiplayer maps for MechAssault 2: Lone Wolf are available for free download over Xbox Live. The game was developed by Day 1 Studios and released at the end of 2004. The two maps--Mountain High and Troubled Waters--were previously available as part of the limited edition of MechAssault 2.

Mountain High features lush terrain coupled with shallow waters. A river runs through a valley between two bases, allowing Mechs to choose between the cooling direct route via the river, or a detour through high ground. The game types supported on Mountain High are Base War, Check it!, Snatch It!, Team Destruction, and Grinder.

In Troubled Waters, a small city is surrounded by deep water with only thin bridges to cross it. Game types supported on this map include Destruction and Grinder.

MechAssault 2: Lone Wolf is rated "T" for Teen and retails for $49.99. For more information on the title, read GameSpot's full review.
