"Max Payne 3: After the Fall", the first chapter in the three-part Max Payne 3 comic series produced by Marvel, is now available in digital form, and you can check it out in the embedded widget thing below. Beginning with a confrontation at a dive bar in Hoboken from Max Payne 3, "After the Fall" then flashes back to tell the story of Max's troubled upbringing--shedding new light on Max's life through key events from Max Payne and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne. The series has been written by Rockstar Games' VP of creative (and lead writer on the game), Dan Houser, along with Remedy Entertainment creative director Sam Lake. The comic features cover art from Greg Horn and pencils and inks by Spanish comic book artist Fernando Blanco.

Super awesome comic, I'd like it to be a full scale graphic-novel sometime.

It's been a week since the 1st issue was out. Why is Gamespot reporting it so late? Anyways Rockstar stop slacking and reel out the 2nd issue already,  max payne 3 is already out for XBOX....

Somehow it seems so fitting that Marvel should make a Max Payne comic. He pretty much is a superhero, I guess.

Such a missed opportunity. Why couldn't they have gone with the realism art style that the exposition scenes used, instead it's just a generic comic.

@ziproy I think so the same. I prefer the film-noir graphic novel style from MP1 and 2. But this is still solid-looking.

@Gelugon_baat I can't see that anywhere, but I'm extremely tired so maybe I'm being stupid! It's a long time since I played it, but I think Max Payne 2 had her die in the normal ending, and live in the ending on the most extreme difficulty setting. I imagine it says in the third game somewhere, but I'm waiting for the PC edition.

@DoubleclickTF Same here, preordered the limited edition and now I'm trying to avoid any spoilers for the next 2 weeks until it arrives at my door.
