Max Payne 2 goes gold

Rockstar Games announces that development on the PC version of Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne is complete.

Rockstar Games has today announced that Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne for the PC has gone gold and is currently being prepared for retail. The game, which was developed by Remedy Entertainment, is currently scheduled for release in North America on October 15 and in Europe on October 24. PlayStation 2 and Xbox versions of the game are also in development and are scheduled for release in December.

"With Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne, Remedy has done an incredible job in raising the bar for technical innovation and creating a truly superb cinematic experience," said Sam Houser, president of Rockstar Games. "With two and a half years invested in this project, the results exceeded even our high expectations. Everyone at Rockstar is eagerly anticipating the reaction of gamers around the world when it hits the streets."
