Matrix 4 Title Reportedly Leaked, But It's A Journey To Get There

It's a bit of a longshot, but here is what people are saying the movie is called.

The Matrix 4's official title was reportedly leaked, and it's fitting in with the rest of the sequels. The movie set to hit theaters on December 21, 2021 is Matrix: Resurrection--and the first trailer is out.

How did this supposed name reveal come about? Let's go on a journey. According to Yahoo, a Reddit post on /r/Matrix explains that an Instagram user named love_lana_wachowski had gotten a hold of a video that was originally posted by the makeup artist for The Matrix 4. The video was of a wrap gift that came with a card, revealing the title of the film.

In addition, there was a cool trenchcoat shown in a video allegedly posted by the makeup artist, and on the inside is the title of the film, in the cool Matrix font. Check out below.

A recent HBO Max sizzle reel also has no official title for the upcoming movie listed. However, there is a Matrix Resurrection website, which redirects you to the Warner Bros. website. WB registered the domain back in April 2009.

None of this info confirms the movie's real title, but it is a fun adventure. And it's not the journey up the mountain that matters. It's the friends we make along the way--or the amount of websites we visit.

Calling the film Matrix: Resurrection certainly makes sense on numerous levels. The 2003 sequels were titled Reloaded and Revolutions--keeping with that whole "Re" aesthetic. Additionally--spoilers from a movie that came out 18 years ago--Neo and Trinity both died in Revolutions, and since Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss are both in Matrix 4, they'd probably have to be resurrected from the dead for their characters to appear.

Joining Reeves and Moss in the new film are Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Gotham), Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother), Jada Pinkett Smith (Gotham), Jessica Henwick (Iron Fist), and Priyanka Chopra Jonas (Baywatch). Lana Wachowski will return to direct.
