Master of Orion III delayed
The turn-based space strategy game won't be out until near the end of the year.
The third game in MicroProse's popular space conquest strategy series underwent some major changes to streamline the game, after the game's original lead designer left the project earlier this year. The latest news on the game is that its release date, previously set for this fall, has been pushed to the holiday season.
In a post to the game's official forum, the game's producer, Constantine Hantzopoulos, said that the team is shooting to finish the game sometime after Thanksgiving, although it may slip a week or two depending on how the testing process goes. To explain the delay, Hantzopoulos simply said that the game is not ready.
Master of Orion III is nearly feature complete, and there are plans to soon start a small external beta test. We'll have more on the game closer to its release. For more information, take a look at our previous coverage of the game.
