The original story is below.

Halo hero Master Chief's iconic helmet has been given a diamond-themed makeover.

The one-of-a-kind helmet was built by Taiwanese cosplayer Hsu Chia-Hao and Australian fashion designer Jenny Manik Mercian. It features 25,000 Swarovski crystals and weighs around 5kg. Watch how it came together in the video from Xbox Asia above (via IGN).

The helmet is up for auction on eBay, with all proceeds going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the organization that grants "wishes" to sick children. Right now, the top bid for the helmet is $1,766. The auction closes on November 6.

Mercian previously worked with celebrities like Beyoncé and Gisele Bündchen. In other news about stuff covered in diamonds, check out this $100,000 Apple Watch.

Halo 5 launched this week for Xbox One. GameSpot's Halo 5 review scored it an 8/10. For more on the game's critical reception, check out this review roundup.

"In some ways, Halo 5 is the boldest Halo yet," critic Mike Mahardy wrote. "The franchise's multiplayer is at its peak, with a mode I'm sure I'll return to several times over. But then there's the campaign, which introduces fluid new movement and open level design, yet can't tell a coherent story to match. There are signs of a phenomenal shooter here, but certain narrative aspects feel underdeveloped, holding the franchise's newest sequel back from true excellence."
