Originally with the subtitle of The Kang Dynasty, that will reportedly no longer be the case.

Movie titles are a funny thing. Productions are named and renamed all the time and nobody is immune to that, including Marvel Studios. The next Avengers movie might be the next in line for a name change, as Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is reportedly going through a rebrand.

Due to the nine-month-long Jonathan Majors assault scandal, and the eventual firing of the actor, Marvel found itself faced with a choice of whether to de-emphasize or recast his role as Kang. Sources close to The Hollywood Reporter say that Marvel is retooling the name and dropping all references from Majors' Kang in the title.

The report stated that the first of the new Avengers movies, due out in 2026 initially titled Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, will be getting a new title to remove the character’s name. Sources say that even before Majors’ conviction, the studio was making moves to minimize the character after Quantumania underperformed, despite making almost half a billion dollars.

As previously reported, internal conversations centered around how to replace Kang, who had been built as the next Big Bad following the conclusion of Thanos' arc. One possible alternative to Kang has included Dr. Doom.

The report also said that the reshoots across the board are allowing Marvel to reduce its overall output. That gap also allows fans to miss the MCU so each release is considered a bigger event.

There's still no update on the Blade or Ironheart projects. The next Captain America movie with Anthony Mackie as the next generation Cap was originally called New World Order, but now is under the title of Brave New World.

"They're not going to give up," a source who has worked with Marvel over the past year said. "They want to make something great."
