Namco Bandai Games today announced that everything is in order with its plans to unleash Chaos into the world, as the publisher's PC real-time strategy game Warhammer: Mark of Chaos has gone gold and is set to release in North American stores November 14.

Developed by Armies of Exigo creator Black Hole Entertainment and based closely on the Warhammer tabletop strategy game, Mark of Chaos focuses the game on the fight, with the forces of the Empire, the skaven, the high elves, and chaos locked in conflict. Each army will be led by strategically key heroes who can go mano a mano in one-on-one duels. And when the standard rank-and-file troops need reinforcements, players can turn to allied "dogs of war," which include orcs, dwarves, vampires, and goblins.

Fitting into the Warhammer tabletop strategy game's mythos, Mark of Chaos is set one year after the Great War, which saw chaos armies sweep the lands of the Empire before being pushed back to the Northern Wastes. However, while the high elf and Empire forces try to drive off the remaining chaos forces, they find their enemies' ranks resurgent.

The game's single-player action will be supplemented by multiplayer skirmishes for up to six players, with computer-controlled players able to fill in any of those spots left vacant. Mark of Chaos is rated M for Mature and will retail for $49.99.
