Mario Golf 3DS delayed into 2014

Nintendo pushes Mario Golf: World Tour out of summer release window and into next year.

Mario Golf won't come to the 3DS on time. Nintendo revealed during an E3 2013 analyst briefing this week (via Polygon) that Mario Golf: World Tour has been delayed into 2014.

The game was announced in February with a summer 2013 release window. No reason for the delay was provided.

Mario Golf: World Tour is in development at series shop Camelot Software and promises to offer modes that both simplify the series for beginners and add complexity for experts.

Mario Golf: World Tour will be the sixth Mario Golf game in a series that has been running since 1999, with previous titles appearing on the N64, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, and GameCube.

The memories of the N64, late night sleep overs, laughing really hard at making the one guy go:

"EX-SEX-SEX-SEX-SEX-SEX-SEX-SEX-EXCELLENT!"

Golf, on a handheld............just wow! I'd rather play rock-paper-scissors by myself with my own two hands!

Ohh, no!! A crime! The 50th version of this game and somehow this is newsworthy?

Surprised at the amount of attention this game has been getting, then again, Mario Sports titles tend to highlight what's the most fun about the particular sport and add more flare and goofiness to it and really, if it's fun and a good value, that's all that matters.

Oh no! Not... golf... nooo...

Take your time, Camelot. I already have too many 3DS games to play as it is.

Splitting what little free time I have among Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Fire Emblem: Awakening, and Animal Crossing: New Leaf - plus with Shin Megami Tensei IV, Project X, and Pokemon X/Y on the horizon - I doubt I will be able to get to Mario Golf anytime soon.

That sucks. I wanted it for the Wii, but we never got it. Not the 3DS version gets delayed. It sucks.

Nintendo should throw most of it's 1st party games to Wii U as the 3ds is doing fine with 3rd party but the Wii U is in bad shape.

"delayed to 2014"

That's Nintendo sorted for E3 next year then.

That's a shame. One of my most looked forward to 3ds games. Advance Tour was probably my most played gba game. Golf suits the portable perfectly.

That's ok, it'll be great when it's done. Meanwhile..plenty of time to build my space station and fail multiple times in Kerbal Space Program. Would love to see that game on the Wii U

"No reason for the delay was provided."

No reason is needed. No one cares.

@b74kd3th the fact your calling it kiddie and disrespecting other people's taste in games makes you the kiddie sorry. It shouldn't be a concern of yours if someone plays this so no need to get rude or nasty about it

There have been as many Uncharted games as this one. Nice try, then again, I wouldn't expect accurate information from an ignorant troll.

@abHS4L88 I still play my copy of Mario Tennis Open often. I have nearly unlocked all of the costumes, save for Super Mario Tennis ones. The game is quite fun, especially when you play it with friends. Online play isn't too shabby either, but connection can be spotty at times.

Noooo, Camelot needs to finish this so they can start productions on the next Golden Sun!

@pszone Considering this year gets a new Ace Attorney, Pokemon X & Y, Zelda, Super Smash Bros, Mario & Luigi, Yoshi's New Island, among others...I'd say the 3DS will be having a great year

@Femto513 are you kidding dude? This is my favorite branch of the mario series it's extremely innovative and revolutionary maybe you should go talk crap on your Ninja Gaiden and put pubes in your mouth

@abHS4L88 at least I'm not the one who's intelligence would probably prohibit both hands to use different objects, therefore resulting in a rock/rock draw every single match. The brain needs stimulation. I heard chewing gum can help prevent dementia. You should try chewing while doing birdies and bogeys on your 3DS.

@sasami_adachi

I remember playing the Gamecube Mario Tennis, it was a lot of fun despite never really being into the sports series. MarioKart is the only "sport" type spin-off that I love :D

But yeah, the games are always well made and super fun, plus they only really come out once per console which is why their popularity really can't be argued (even though morons like the one above me will try to make idiotic statements saying otherwise).

@uglypinkmoose @Femto513 You like this over Yoshi's island, Luigi's Mansion, Mario Tennis, Mario Kart, Dr. Mario, and the 3d Marios?  You sir have issues.

@xolivierx

You obviously didn't get my insult which indicated that that's exactly the outcome that would happen for you each and every time, that or you'd wonder why one hand would always lose to the other.

Did I say I was getting this game? I was responding to someone's reply to me when I came across your ingenious comment.

Maybe if you used your brain a little (it's not hard, give it a try), you'd know that videogame golf has had a pretty strong following for a while, which is why these games are still being made for both home and handheld consoles, and lol at the fact that you had to redo the comment 3 times, I guess you had trouble processing exactly what you wanted to say.

Yet I'm not the one who wastes my time hating on pieces of plastic, easily one of the most immature and stupid wastes of someone's time.

Thanks for proving how "intelligent" you are based on your comment above.
