Electronic Arts will shut down Majestic, its online conspiracy adventure game, on April 30, according to a notice sent out to the game's subscribers. The company 2833903recently announced that the game would be shut down sometime in 2002 due to lower-than-expected sales. EA is encouraging players to play the game daily and complete each day's activities in order to finish the game before April 30.

Majestic uses an unusual interactive system that advances the game's story by contacting players through e-mail, telephone, fax, instant messaging, and other forms of communication. The game's first season includes five episodes in which players unravel the secrets behind several intertwined conspiracies. The game was originally available only through EA.com, Electronic Arts' online game service, but it was released in a traditional retail boxed version in October.
