TOKYO--Banpresto and Korean game studio SoftMax have announced that they will codevelop Magna Carta 2 for the Microsoft Xbox 360. The game is slated for a worldwide release in 2007.

The original Magna Carta was released for the PC in 2002 and was later ported to the PlayStation 2 in 2004. The game has sold more than 200,000 units in Korea and Japan, and it will be released in the United States and Europe in the fourth quarter of 2005. Banpresto also recently announced its decision to port the game to the PSP.

Magna Carta 2 will be the second game Banpresto is developing for the Xbox 360. The company previously announced it is making a new Super Robot Wars game for the console.
