Madden 25, FIFA 14 Ultimate Teams will carry over to Xbox One, PS4

Electronic Arts confirms players will be able to transfer Ultimate Team items between current- and next-gen consoles.

Gamers who purchase current- and next-generation versions of Madden NFL 25 and FIFA 14 will be able to transfer Ultimate Team items between the two generations, EA Sports has confirmed.

Ultimate Team is a game mode that allows players to create a fantasy team with virtual trading cards based on real-life players.

Madden Ultimate Team users on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 can perform a onetime transfer of up to 1,100 items to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, EA Sports said. This includes 100 active items (55 players, 45 additional items) and up to 1,000 reserves.

All transferred items can still be used on the Xbox 360 or PS3 following the upgrade, though items cannot be traded or auctioned more than once. In addition, the carry-over only applies to those upgrading from the PS3 to the PS4 and the Xbox 360 to the Xbox One. No other combination is supported.

For FIFA 14, players will be able to access their full FIFA 14 Ultimate Team roster, in-game items, and in-game currency from either console. In addition, all changes made in FIFA 14 Ultimate Team will be reflected in both consoles, EA said.

On top of that, players who begin their FIFA 14 Ultimate Team experience on current-generation consoles will be able to maintain their division in Seasons mode on the new systems. Both versions of FIFA 14 will also share a common auction market, EA said, allowing players on next-generation consoles to interact with the current-generation players.

Madden NFL 25 launches on August 27 for the Xbox 360 and PS3, while FIFA 14 arrives September 24. The Xbox One and PS4 will be released this holiday.

Anddddd what about the other game modes? E.g: I'd definitely want my Virtual Pro to carry over in FiFA 14...

I'm sorry, but someone who gets a football game 2 years in a row is borderline stupid, who the hell is gonna buy the same one twice in the same year?

On top of that if you purchase Madden 25 for current gen you should get a code to download it for free on Next Gen.

why call it madden 25 as though it being the 25th anniversary will somehow make it any different from the last 4 years of madden games?  oh, because marketing is dishonest.  forgot about that for a second.

I'm happy that there will be an ability to transfer things to the next gen. I don't want to lose something that I worked for.

Im going to have a major decision once fifa 14 comes out on ps3. I don't know how I could wait the 2 months until ps4 comes out to get it.

It's an absolute waste if money buying it for current gen with the intention of buying it for next-gen.. Just wait a few months.. However, this is kind of them to do

This is a nice feature... EA SHOULD HAVE BEEN ALLOWING FOR EVERY PRIOR RELEASE.

I remember when 2K was allowed at the dinner table with Madden.  2K allowed for some migration of rosters and periodic downloads of updated rosters.  Brilliant.

EA would have none of that.  "Why allow updated rosters and stats??" EA said, "People will not have any reason to buy the next iteration of our product!!"

I hate monopolies.  They squash innovation.

Wouldn't people just wait to get it on next-gen rather than buy it twice?  At least that's what I'll be doing.

You trolls are so lame. Do you really have nothing better to do than troll every article that pops up? If you don't like Madden, then don't click on the article. You're probably the same losers that sit on Gamespot, IGN and YouTube all day hating xbox One and Call of Duty. You're not gamers... you're losers.

My first important question:  Who the hell is going to buy either of these games twice for two different consoles?  They would play pretty much exactly the same.  And secondly, I hope EA isn't really stupid enough to think that transferring the single worst mode between the exact same game on two different consoles would convince people to buy it twice.  Or maybe they did think that, and really are that stupid.  The more I think about it, the more realistic that seems.

@TheGamerPhenom Any one that whats the improved game engine in both FIFA and Madden will have to buy the next gen version, so alot of people will buy both.

@TheGamerPhenom I think EA can convince the type of people that play Madden (hoodlums, retards, invalids) of anything. They have been giving them the same shit for like, 15 years.
