Madden 24 Player Ratings Predictions: 99 Club And Best Players By Position

Who will stand a tier above their peers in Madden 24's ratings battle?

Comments

Madden NFL 24 is coming, which means it's time once again to debate who will be declared the game's best players. We like to make our predictions not just based on position, like best wide receiver or quarterback, but we also love to put forward our 99 Club predictions. Annually, a select few players debut in the latest Madden with the pristine 99 overall (OVR) rating. Last year, there were just four such players, and typically a new version of Madden tends not to feature more than a half-dozen such players at most.

With that in mind, we're breaking down our best guesses for Madden 24's top players across five positional categories: quarterback (QB), running back (RB), wide receiver (WR), tight end (TE), and defense. In due time, we'll have the complete rosters and ratings revealed too, so stay tuned for continued updates.

Madden 24's best QBs

  1. Patrick Mahomes
  2. Jalen Hurts
  3. Josh Allen
  4. Joe Burrow
  5. Aaron Rodgers

Mahomes ran away with last season's MVP award and looks to have another decade of dominance ahead of him. After that, you could easily move guys around, with Super Bowl runner-up Hurts needing to prove he's here to stay--but we think he will--followed by cover star Josh Allen, Bengals savior Joe Burrow, and old reliable Aaron Rodgers.

One to watch: Justin Fields may not have an elite Madden OVR to kick off the season, but if he can duplicate some of his midseason numbers from last year, the Madden Ratings Adjustor will have to give him his due.

Madden 24's best RBs

  1. Christian McCaffrey
  2. Nick Chubb
  3. Derrick Henry
  4. Austin Ekeler
  5. Josh Jacobs

McCaffrey stayed healthy and won many fantasy league titles last year. Still enjoying Kyle Shanahan's run-friendly offense, another healthy season would keep CMC at the top. Chubb and Henry are similar players, but Chubb is in his prime and Henry may begin to show decline on a terrible Titans team. Ekeler and Jacobs both nearly got dealt, but now they look to stay hot in the same jerseys they each sported last year.

One to watch: Bijan Robinson, the rookie RB out of Texas, landed in the perfect situation with the Falcons, who run the ball about as much as anyone. He should skyrocket up the Madden OVR rankings between now and February.

Madden 24's best WRs

  1. Justin Jefferson
  2. Tyreek Hill
  3. Stefon Diggs
  4. AJ Brown
  5. Davante Adams

JJ is simply the best, even as we may be living in the most WR-rich era the NFL has ever seen. It was tough to cut this list to just five, and if I had to guess, Madden might even snub AJ Brown, but he was a big factor in Hurts' incredible play last year and deserves the flowers. Davante Adams and Tyreek Hill are getting older, but until they act like it, Madden will likely continue ranking them highly.

One to watch: Garrett Wilson, already the reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year, now has Aaron Rodgers throwing to him. His stock will only continue to rise, so don't be surprised to see him on this list next year--though he may need Rodgers to stick around for longer than a year to solidify himself as an elite player.

Madden 24's best TEs

  1. Travis Kelce
  2. Mark Andrews
  3. Dallas Goedert
  4. George Kittle
  5. Pat Freiermuth

At TE, it's Kelce, then about 50 empty spaces for emphasis, then the rest of them. Among those other standouts, we like this group to get the most Madden buzz, but TEs are often a young QB's security blanket, so look for teams with young QBs to potentially drive up the value of their TEs.

One to watch: Chigoziem Okonkwo, AKA Chig, is perhaps the lone rising star on the Titans right now. Even a bad team will move the ball some of the time, so we are expecting him to start Madden 24 rated in the 70s but end it rated in the 80s.

Madden 24's best defensive players

  1. Nick Bosa
  2. Micah Parsons
  3. TJ Watt
  4. Myles Garrett
  5. Aaron Donald

Another list that was tough to keep short, Bosa will likely stand atop it as the most recent Defensive Player of the Year. Parsons is incredibly versatile, perhaps to a level we've never seen before, and then three pass rushers and run stuffers fill out the rest of the tightly contested predictions list.

One to watch: It's a no-brainer. After an incredible rookie campaign, we're excited to see what Ahmad "Sauce" Gardner does in year two. If he looks as good as or better than he did last year, he will cement himself as the Jets' first homegrown lockdown corner since Darrelle Revis. Watch as his Madden rating jumps way up this season.

Jalen Hurts will find himself in the elite tier on Madden launch day for the first time.

Madden 24 - 99 Club predictions

Taking all this into account, while also acknowledging that EA Tiburon likes to keep the 99 Club very exclusive, we predict the following five players will make up Madden 24's 99 Club:

  • Patrick Mahomes
  • Travis Kelce
  • Justin Jefferson
  • Nick Bosa
  • Micah Parsons

How close will we come to nailing it? We should find out soon, as the Madden team tends to reveal all sorts of player and team ratings in the weeks ahead of the game's launch, which this year happens to be August 18. Looking to preorder? We've got all you need to know in our Madden 24 preorder guide.
