Starting with gameplay, the patch changes some run-after-catch animations that incorrectly triggered drops in some situations. The patch also fixes a problem where the Ice the Kicker prompt would fail to trigger in the right scenarios. Another kicking fix is for a problem where players could choose to ice their own kicker when calling a timeout. Additionally, the update removes the ability for receivers to get a speed boost if they time with the snap with going in motion.

For Ultimate Team, the patch adds the ability to give rewards after each head-to-head game instead of waiting until the full event was over. The mode has also been tweaked so that you now know how many items you have available in a particular set.

In terms of commentary, this Madden NFL 17 patch adds new lines for post-PAT situations; there was previously no commentary here. Additionally, there is new postplay analysis for "various different situations," while the common touchdown lines have been "refreshed." On top of that, "hundreds" of new lines have been added for Play the Moment.
