Mad Catz making Xbox One products

Peripheral company confirms it is working on a "range" of official products for next-gen Xbox; more details to be shared at E3.

Peripheral company Mad Catz is making a "range" of official products for Microsoft's Xbox One, the company announced today.

Mad Catz did not go into detail regarding the nature of these products, but said more information will be provided next month at the 2013 Electronic Entertainment Expo.

"We are eagerly looking forward to the upcoming launch of the Xbox One and excited about the opportunity to develop a range of innovative products to support the platform," Mad Catz president and CEO Darren Richardson said in a statement.

Mad Catz is a publicly traded company that has created a range of peripherals for numerous consoles, including the Wii U, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, DS, and PlayStation Vita.

As announced last week, Turtle Beach is also developing products for the Xbox One in the form of headsets that aim to bring "advanced audio solutions" to gamers.

Xbox gonna win over ps4
if it has the lumi-room option with release

Well... there's an announcement that could scare people who are getting an Xbox One.  I don't have a single Mad Catz product in my home that still works or even survived a year for that matter.

I wonder if an adaptor to make 360 joysticks work with the "One" is an option. Over $200 in sticks, and XBL games not crossing over already have me leaning towards the PS4.

Because anyone who cares about performance and quality totally wants something made by Mad Catz.

I defend Madcatz. I don't know about their other products but their fighsticks are fantastic. I got one about a year ago and it's still perfect. I've had a great experience with and so have many others. As for the $160 price tag, yes it's high, but they have LOTS of sales regularly. They drop to $100. I've seen it once drop to $80.

On another note, I hope my fighstick works on PS4. Otherwise, I may consider dual-modding it.

After reading some the comments, I'm glad I've never had to buy a Mad Catz product.

This is how you know the xbox one will break on you.

WHY?

Why in god's name does any company agree to let this go on?

Mad Catz has the single lowest quality electronics I have ever seen. It's an absolute joke. I wonder how much profit margin they make off using crap materials, no quality control, and charging almost the same price as a brand new controller.

Seriously, someone commit business murder on this company once and for all.

I really hope my current Tournament stick will work on the X1...to buy another one  is just of the question, way too expensive.

Every single mad catz product I bought ended up breaking pretty quickly. Not looking forward to this...

Mad Catz also made GameCube products so they ought to be interesting.

I am eagerly waiting for third-party game controllers that will break after 2 weeks.

please make controllers for the PS4 too

i'm a fan of your products (F.P.S PRO on xbox 360 and F.P.S PRO on the PS3)

your controllers are simply amazing, the rubber coating, the extra buttons underneath the controller, the silicon grips

i just can't go back to the crappy first party controllers...

Is an exclusive ball and chain one of the new accessories?

Just great. One of the worst hardware makers in the business. (Sarcastic) Thumbs up Microsoft.

Everything Mad Catz I ever bought broke. With all the bad news I'm hearing about Xbox One, it looks like it's going to be the last system I buy this generation (most likely when it's discontinued and about $20.) Now let's see what PS4 has to bring (or not bring in this case).

This is no surprise, after all, only madcatz can develop crappy peripherals for such a joke of TV BOX, i mean: "console"

Mad catz break, I wonder if this means Xbox One will also suffer from RRoD?

Note to Madcatz, No one is buying the POS FAILBOXONE. You will lose money

I guess if you paid $160 for one of those fightsticks for 360 you'll have to buy a new one.

I've owned three Mad Catz products in the past, none of which ever worked.

That was a long time ago though. Maybe things have improved since then.

I wish Codejunkies could come out with an Action Replay, I'd even be happy with it just for the PS3/360.

Good. Hope they make an Xbox One controller that works with PS4!

@FallenOneX Because your 360 sticks and games will work so much better with that PS4?

I can see compatibility moving you towards PC...but PS4? Huh?

plaintomato

@Carreau13 They have a range of products. Just don't expect their $20 Walmart kiddie controller to be the same thing as their $100 MLG Pro Controller and you won't be so confused.

FallenOneX
FallenOneX

@Carreau13 To be fair, most sticks are easily modded with performance parts. I bought an original SFIV stick and modded it, and it plays just as well as a custom stick I bought years ago. If I had known how easy it was, I would have gone that route in the first place.

FallenOneX
FallenOneX

@sagejonathan I bought the non-TE version, and switched out the stick and buttons. I would have left the buttons alone, but the person who gave me advice on the replacement stick said he had a few extra Sanwa's, and the original "B" button would activate if I did a movement too hard. I still wish I had gotten the TE when they first came out though.

Them fight sticks must really sell.

FallenOneX
FallenOneX

@plaintomato Since they (XBL games) won't cross over, I won't be getting rid of my 360. There weren't that many games for the 360 that I own that I can't live without, so selling it and those games will help fund my next console purchase. I normally keep all of my systems, but I just don't feel the urge to this time. At least one of the sticks (a custom one) works perfectly with M.A.M.E., I'm just not sure about the Madcatz stick. That's the one that I actually took the time to mod myself, so I'm never getting rid of it!

@VenkmanPHD @ResidnetEvil777 You guys pretty much just covered anything I would have said here. Every single product of theirs broke for me too. And quite quickly too.
