October's action-RPG Lords of the Fallen will run in 1080p on PlayStation 4 and 900p on Xbox One, creative director Tomasz Gop confirmed in an interview today with Videogamer.

Today's confirmation comes after developer CI Games said in April this year that hitting 1080p on Xbox One was proving "slightly tougher" than it was on PS4.

Aside from Lords of the Fallen's resolution difference, the Xbox One and PS4 versions are "pretty much similar," Gop said. "Apart from that, there's nothing different [between the Xbox One and PS4 versions] I would say."

A resolution increase between now and launch for the Xbox One version is unlikely, as the game has now been certified for release in the US, Gop says.

"It's really, really close [to completion]," Gop said. "Pretty much the only thing that we're doing is last minute fixes, but we've already been certified. We're already past the US certification for PlayStation."

Lords Of The Fallen has been frequently compared to the likes of Dark Souls, with the two games sharing a similarly dark aesthetic and focus on melee combat. The game will be published by Bandai Namco in the US and Square Enix in the EU.
