Polish developer Longsoft Games announces that it will develop a new action game using Techland's Chrome Engine.

Poland-based developer Longsoft Games today announced that it has acquired the rights to use Techland's Chrome Engine in the development of a new third-person action game. Techland's sci-fi shooter Chrome was originally scheduled for release later this year, but has since been delayed indefinitely. Techland also has another Chrome-powered shooter of its own in development, but no release date has been announced for Chrome at this time.

Longsoft's as yet unnamed third-person action game will see players assuming the role of a lone soldier who must recover top-secret weapon plans from the enemy. Longsoft has said that the game will incorporate elements of resource management and technology development, although exactly how these will be implemented isn't clear at this time.

Longsoft's game is apparently scheduled for release in the first half of 2003, suggesting that development is already well under way. We'll bring you more information on the game as soon as it becomes available.
