Loki Season 2 Release Date Moved Up A Day On Disney Plus

It's time once again for Loki and Mobius to save the timeline.

Disney+'s Loki series introduced several new variables to the MCU including the TVA, the notion that Infinity Stones are paperweights, and helped usher in the Kang Dynasty. At the end of Ant-Man and Wasp: Quantumania, we saw Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Mobius (Owen Wilson) witness Victor Timely, a Kang variant (Jonathan Majors), use his advanced tech to wow a crowd in what appears to be the late 1800s.

It's been two years since Loki debuted on the streaming service, and it's about to return a day earlier. Initially scheduled for October 6, Loki Season 2 will premiere on October 5. It might not seem like much, but it's a pattern that Disney+ has been doing recently. It'll be interesting to see if they follow suit with other shows in the pipeline.

In a new featurette that was previously recorded before the WGA/SAG-AFTRA strike, the cast and crew talked about the upcoming season and explained that Loki has always been a villain, but he's trying to figure out what it means to actually be a hero.

"Season 2 is about Loki understanding himself," Hiddleston said. "He's found a new family. There's a new capacity of making connections. He realizes those connections are all that matter in the end."

Joining Hiddleston and Wilson will be Sophia Di Martino reprising her role as Sylvie, another Loki variant, and bringing Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan as a TVA worker into the fold. From the trailers, we do know that Majors will reprise his role as Timely, but with ongoing legal issues, it's unclear if this is the last time Majors will take on the role.
