LittleBigPlanet Creator Not Showing Its PS4 Game at E3

But the company teases, "We’ve got a whole lotta fun to show you later though, and we simply cannot wait -- so hold on tight, it won't be too much longer."

LittleBigPlanet creator Media Molecule will not show anything at E3 2014 next week, the British studio said today on Twitter. However, that's not to say the company isn't keeping busy. In fact, the studio said it "won't be too much longer" until it is finally ready to talk about its next project.

We already know Media Molecule is working on an unannounced PlayStation 4 game, but it's possible that the studio has another project in the works as well. The studio didn't give a timetable for when it will reveal its next game.

Though Media Molecule won't have anything to show at E3 next week, the studio said it is somewhat aware of Sony's plans for the show, and says you'll be in for a treat. "From what we've heard about next week, we all have a lot to be excited about, oh my yes," the studio said.

Media Molecule's latest game was 2013's PlayStation Vita-exclusive papercraft-themed adventure title Tearaway. The developer showed off a wild tech demo at the PS4's unveiling event in February 2013, but it's unclear if this is an actual game.

E3 2014 runs June 10-12, though Monday, June 9 is expected to be the busiest for news; that's the day Microsoft, Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, and Sony all hold their press conferences. GameSpot will be on the ground at E3 bringing you all the news as it happens. For more on this year's E3, check out GameSpot's roundup of everything you need to know.

This tells me two things:

-Gamescom is when the large segment for Morpheus and the games for Morpheus will take place

-Chances of Guerrilla Games showing their new IP at E3, which is an open world rpg, just went up, since they weren't sure whether to do it at E3 or Gamescom.

-Reminder: if you're a Souls fan but don't have PlayStation 4, start selecting your channel you'll be watching a Let's Play for Project Beast on ;)

Meh, I wasn't too interesting in their weird 'build shiny penises and poop' tech demo from the last E3. I could also care less about LBP3 coming out anytime soon. There are enough games coming out in the fall, we don't need anymore hour suckers.

All signs are pointing to this being a disappointing E3.  I think most people were expecting a big year now that the consoles are on the market but that doesn't seem to be the case.  Moreover, listening to other podcasts (namely Giant Bomb) and hearing insider chat, what is being shown isn't too exciting.

I definitely think it's up to Microsoft and Nintendo to pull out all the stops this year.  While I don't expect Nintendo to do anything crazy ( I'm sure we'll see our Zeldas and Metroids), Microsoft might do something bizarre as a rebuttal to last year's poor performance.

I hope I'm wrong.

Oh come on, that was Sony's only chance to have something creative in their E3 conference. Now it's just gonna be shooters and interactive movies, and maybe Projet Beast.

Sony will have a poor showing at E3 and I think they'll be upstaged by Microsoft who will have Halo, no doubt that'll steal the show as there seems to be so many Halo fans, even though I'm not.

Nintendo can even have a great showing if they have Zelda, that will be enough t get all the fanbois screaming and buying Wii U's finally.

What about that shmancy little tech demo with dancing puppets?

would love to see a sequel to Tearaway on PS4

or a PS4 port of the existing Vita game, though it would have to be heavily altered to work without all the Vita's features

I think this is the nicest way a company has handled a non-announcement announcement

That' better than passing off development PC footage as game footage like watchdogs or darksouls 2 or whatever other game has done that.

@playstationzone You think MS is going to win E3 because of LBP3? That has never even been hinted at as even a concept on their radar right now is not going to be at E3?

You are just retarded.

WingChopMasta
WingChopMasta

@gajbutler Is everyone completely retarded? Because LBP3 is not being shown it means there is nothing? There is tons of stuff coming out and tons of stuff not yet revealed.

I swear half the damn comment section is either full of old people with alzheimer's or can't read anything that has been listed for E3.

Ps. Halo has been crap since Halo 2. It will never steal the show again with all of the other heavy hitters in its wake.

@gajbutler While I think Halo is strong, I don't know if it carries the weight like it used to.  I imagine we'll see a new Gears game as well which will probably excite some people but I believe Microsoft is going to be doing something out of left field that could create more buzz than Sony's conference, but I doubt they'll be carried by a single game.

@atopp399 If the game is on PC why not show the PC footage? what a dumb comment. If it is an exclusive and PC footage is shown, that is an issue.

@WingChopMasta @atopp399

MS did that at the last E3 for some of their games. Forza was one of them.
