Though the GameCube continues to be the third console of choice for sports gamers, at least publishers are trying to do something about it. Earlier this month, EA announced that the GC version of their latest street b'ball title NBA Street V3 would feature a trio of Nintendo "all stars" in Princess Peach, Luigi and the ubiquitous Mario. Now, the company follows that up with a similar announcment for their highly anticipated boxing title, Fight Night Round 2. Along with real-life pugilistic stars such as Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Bernard Hopkins, the GC version will include a boxing icon of a different sort: Little Mac, star of Super Punch Out!!, a classic Super Nintendo boxing title.

Just looking at the screenshots released with the announcement, it's plain to see that Little Mac has grown up. In fact, the kid looks downright freaky. Check it out:
