Little Big Planet 2 due in Nov., Move support confirmed

E3 2010: Media Molecule's imaginative platformer sequel will arrive by holidays and will be compatible with Sony's motion-sensing system; Original LBP also getting Move patch at launch.

LOS ANGELES--At Sony's press briefing, Killzone 3 was dated for February 2011, and earlier in the day, Amazon France listed Uncharted 3 for October 2011. While the latter's release window is merely a retailer's presumption, another Sony-exclusive received an official release window today.

Sony today announced a barrage of titles that will support the company's newest tech, the PlayStation Move and their respective release dates. On that list was Little Big Planet 2, confirmed for a November 2010 debut at retail.

Returning to your TV, sooner rather than later.

As for the game, at Sony's briefing yesterday, Media Molecule's Alex Evans emerged on stage and demonstrated Little Big Planet 2, the studio's sequel to the critically adored original.

The studio head talked about the new tools Sackboy has learned in the sequel. He spoke about the ethos of Play, Create, and Share and went over some of the title's new creation tools, including the ability to make games (within the game) of any genre.

The original Little Big Planet has sold over 3 million copies to date. Sony Computer Entertainment American vice president Scott Rohde confirmed to GameSpot that it too will support the Move controller when the system arrives November 4. The game will receive the update in the form of a software update.

Sorry for double posting but, does the move have 2 sections/parts like a wii remote & nunchucks(sp?)

Move controllers, eh not the best idea, I mean doesn't the remote already have motion sensor, so wouldn't I be able to... move w/ out one?? I can't wait, anywayz! :D @Laptop12 and a mic. But eye is worthless in most cases. Mics r good for like codmw2. Move... not neccesary, 3D tv, Heck no. I think's it a bit odd having to wear 3d glasses 24/7 while watching tv.

Cant wait for LBP2! Def getting the move for this, just to get the most of the game, i wonder if they'll implement the move into create mode? and wonder if it'll make it fun. Read that the PS Move w/ game will be 50 bucks?

I demoed and loved LBP2 @ E3, but I can't see the Move adding much to this game.

LBP 2 seems a bit different to LBP....BUT at the same time looks as impressive as the first one.....

I would be all about getting the Move for this game except for the fact that it will cost @ least $200.00 to get 4 move controllers. No Thanks.

I feel this is the only game I will get for PS3 this year but only if it still had the use of traditional control, I'm not comfortable in using the Move for games like this.

While I'm certainly excited about LBP2 I really wish it wasn't getting Move support. Along with 3D motion control is just about at the top of my "DO NOT WANT" list. Such a shame that this year every single company seemed dedicated to espousing a strategy focusing almost entirely on both.

monson21502- If your going to insult one of the best games to come out in the past few years you should at least spell the name of the game right.

I could be wrong but I Google 'cheap 3D TV" and Geek Squad had a listing for a $200 3D upgrade...For Sony's 3D gaming can we just get the cheap 3D upgrade or do we need one of those expensive as hell TVs?

i mean, i'm talking about the money to get all of that, a 3d tv now is about 2k$, can u stand that

@laptop12 PSMove comes with the eye .... 3D glasses come with the TV ... and games are a given for ANYTHING in terms of cost ...

to have the fully taste of ps3, you have to have a big 3Dtv, pseye, psmove, 3Dglasses, games -> its more than thousand ~-~!

I think move would be a great help in the creation of levels, as for playing the game itself I'll stick to the regular controller.

lbp2 nov 2010... sounds great! I wonder how they'll fit the motion sensor in the gameplay. It will certainly make the creation of levels easier though.

I agree @atopp399 The first one was such a let down. I had fun with it for the first day or so then it was just another platformer. Now they are wasting time putting motion sensing in it? I hope the motion sensing fad dies pretty soon. Focus on making the game better please!

Move compatibility just improves the gameplay of LittleBigPlanet. It opens up so many new options, but I still don't know if I should get it. It sure is expensive.

I'm absolutely amazed at the volume of options, features and customization LBP2 has. I didn't think they could add much more than they had in LBP. Thankfully I was wrong..very, very wrong. The game looks absolutely fantastic.

Too bad developers now have to spend time and money working on Move compatibility rather than working on great story and gameplay.
