Links 2001 VGA Tour begins
Microsoft's $75,000 Internet-based golf tournament begins today.
Microsoft today announced the beginning of the 2001 Virtual Golf Association (VGA) Tour, the largest golf tournament on the Internet. The tournament features $75,000 in prize money, and it will include PC golfers from 12 different countries. All players using Microsoft's Links 2001 golf simulation game are eligible to join. Those interested in registering for the tournament may still do so at the official VGA Tour Web site.
Last year's inaugural VGA Tour featured more than 12,000 participants. This year's VGA Tour features three preliminary major tournaments, a semi-final for the top 70 contestants, and a final event in which the top four players compete head-to-head for the VGA Tour crown.
