Limbo hitting PS Vita June 4

Playdead puzzle platformer hitting Sony's latest portable early next month for $15.

by

Playdead's black-and-white sidescroller Limbo will launch for PlayStation Vita on June 4, company CEO and cofounder Dino Patti said on the PlayStation Blog today.

The game is a collaboration between Playdead and Double Eleven, which co-developed LittleBigPlanet for PlayStation Vita.

According to Patti, the teams have been working hard to adapt the game for PS Vita "without compromising the experience."

Limbo puts players in the shoes of a small child who must find his way through a black-and-white world, filled with puzzles and dangerous, often deadly, obstacles.

The game won critical acclaim upon release, which was followed by a small avalanche of award nominations that yielded multiple Interactive Achievement Awards and a Game Developers Choice Award.

The game is disgusting.  I downloaded the demo, and I was enjoying the game. I was just running along, and the next thing I knew: My character got decapitated. I was staring at my screen in shock because a young boy just died a cruel death. It was just sick and a disgusting thing to do. For some reason I never saw anyone complaining about this. Children dying in a game is a huge NO.

Maybe I'm a cheapskate but this game (as great as it is) is overpriced at $15 in my opinion. You can literally finish it in under 2 hours.

It's funny because the PS Vita itself is in a limbo right now...

obviously it's cheaper on steam but being able to play all these great games on a real mobile with sticks and buttons is nice. If someone could crack remote play to work with a pc and steam then the shield is kinda pointless

Wow! I'd better go out right now and buy a Vita! Oh, but wait ... it's $5 cheaper on Steam RIGHT NOW.

I picked up Limbo on steam for like 3 bucks. Just saying

So if i already bought the ps3 version on PSN, will i get the vita version as well?

Limbo: Okay game but fantastic presentation. You should definitely pick this up for a change of pace if you haven't played it already.

It's definitely worth $15. You will get much more for your dollar out of it than half the crap that sells for $60 today. Period.

LOL! Just another pathetic ploy by Sony to sell more Vitas because its a garbage paperweight!

Is what we should be expecting some idiot to say at some point -__-

Great game. If there are any people who own a Vita, go buy it immediately.

I thought the Vita was already in Limbo. Now they're trying to cram it down next-gen game developer's throats. Good luck with that.

@zzamaro What about other seemingly innocent looking children in the game who try to kill you? That was pretty brutal.

@zzamaro This may come as a shock to you, but that wasn't a real boy that died in that game. In fact, he doesn't exist at all. He's a completely made up character. Unfortunately, people like you, that try so hard to project your idiotic sensibilities on the world around you, do exist. Worse yet, you completely disgust me. Buuut, I guess that just goes to show that we all have something to hate in this life. Might I suggest you stick to games like Super Mario? The only thing dying a brutal death in those games are the Goombas!

Coco_pierrot

@zzamaro the death feel really brutal in this game ... even just drowning ... But the puzzle are really nice and the fact that those death are so brutal make you think a lot more during a puzzle

@zzamaro Just as well you stopped playing. The decapitation was only the tip of the iceberg of grim deaths this kid experiences while in limbo.

@CyberX115 I think the 15 dollar price tag was reasonable when it first came out but it's been a couple of years now. It should be about $5 now.

I felt ripped off buying this. But I also thought journey was over priced

@XxTheEvilxX It's definitely a good, unique game but the cheap deaths were irritating. The game basically wants you to keep dying as you play it. To solve some puzzles, you had to die first then learn rather than use your brain. Maybe that was what they were going for, but it didn't settle well with me.

@Bad-School-Girl Limbo: worth $15. Not worth $15? Every 3D movie they try to shove down our throats.

@HowlPendragon everytime the someone says :"vita" ... it is sad I think, I like mine a lot ! Well I just bought it like 2 months ago and there is a lot of games to play for me.

Vita is great.  Problem is lack of games.  So, according to you, Sony should just let the device die instead of bringing more games to it?

tigress666

@HAMMERCLAW I don't understand the hate for the Vita. Sure, it hasn't taken off but I don't see why people are against it taking off or think it's a crappy game system. Yes, it doesn't have games and it sucks Sony seems to not know how to market it, but it has potential (whether it ever reaches it is another thing entirely).

So I don't understand why people seem to be offended by it. What is inherant about it that people object to (besides lack of games cause that could easily be attributed to lack of marketing and high price).

Uhm, those little turtles being killed actually lead to a kid killing turtles like that in real life. Might I suggest...karaoke revolution. A game where death isn't involved.

CyberX115
CyberX115

@hateyourface @CyberX115 That's what I'm saying. It's an excellent game, don't get me wrong but it came out 3 years ago. At the minimum I think the price should be reduced to $10. $5 would be even better.

@da_chub It was also overrated. I played through it twice with some mild amusement, but the way everyone in the media was jacking off all over themselves about the game was quite retarded. You'd think the game was comparable to Uncharted 3 or something.

Ixidor56
Ixidor56

@da_chub I disagree. Journey may be short, but it`s a unique experience, it`s definetly worth more than many $60 games.
As for Limbo, I think $10 would be more reasonable, but I think it is worth $15 if you haven`t played it yet :)

Coco_pierrot
Coco_pierrot

@Emerald_Scott @XxTheEvilxX I don't know ... I never felt like it has cheap death ... brutal yes, not really cheap. It is more of a reaction puzzle than anything else, once you figure that out, finishing the game without dying isn't that hard.

@tigress666 @HAMMERCLAW Hate? More like disappointment. Mine is sitting on top of the Wii, gathering dust. Tech-wise it's a fine piece of hardware, everything the PSP should have been,. It's just a generation too late. Casual gamers have migrated to smart phones, leaving the dedicated portable gaming platforms to the core users. Requiring all third party games to support it sounds like Sony, shooting themselves in the foot yet again, by making their games more difficult to build. I'd like to see a Vita Smart-phone, myself. THAT would keep it relevant.
