Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars forced to March 22

Traveller's Tales' upcoming adventure game gets a release date following delay.

by

The Force has not been strong with the latest Lego Star Wars title, as The Clone Wars was originally pegged to debut last fall. It later was pushed to a broad March 2011 window.

March 22, the game is due out on.

Now, the latest comical block title has a definitive date with retail. LucasArts has confirmed that Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars will now launch on March 22 in North America. The company did not offer a European release date, but March 25 would seem likely.

Developer Traveller's Tales will introduce new battle modes with Lego Star Wars III, including close-encounter combat techniques and the ability to build customized bases and fortresses. Gamers can take the side of either a Jedi or a Separatist, each of which comes with its own special abilities.

The game is slated to arrive on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, Wii, DS, and PSP. (A 3DS version is also planned, though its release date is unclear.) It is the first Lego game since Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4, which shipped last May. 1) This better be good 2) They better not have the challenge minikits again...biggest pain in the butt achievement ever!

Well this is just sad. But I guess our patience would pay off soon enough. :)

They probably pulled it back since they dont want the 3DS verson to be too better than the console versons xDD jk Its good to see polishing going on.

There have really been a lot of lego games since that first lego star wars... They are all kind of the same, but still fun with other players. Until they do something drastically new with the game (add RPG elements like MUA/XML) then I'm probably not getting another version of the same game.

why get this game when Serj Tankian's "Glaring Through Oblivion" comes out on the same day?

In a world of "rush it out and fix it/supplement it with DLC later", I'm actually glad to see they are concerned about polishing it before release so that we get a better product on disk. This raises my hopes and respect. Looking forward to this one.

Oh well, I was hoping it'd be the front-end of March, but if the game turns out to be as good as the trailers and previews make it out to be, it'll be well worth the wait. Those ground battles look like they'll add a ton of replay value, especially player vs. player.

I dunno, maybe it's cuz I hate the anime series so much that I don't have interest in this one. I'm so behind on Lego games anyway....

The lego franchise is starting to stagnate.

No one gets it, do they? It was pushed back to a broad release date a while back, this is just saying the specific date in the month we already knew it to be in. :P

This is a relief for me: I still have lots of games to beat, not to mention Marvel vs. Capcom 3 coming out in a little over 2 weeks.

I can't wait to get my hands on this. Every lego game has been awesome.

Bummer. I guess if I waited this long, I can handle a few more weeks.
