Lego Rock Band setlist revealed

Family-friendly edition of rhythm franchise includes Queen, Incubus, Ray Parker Jr.; Xbox 360 and PS3 owners able to export all 45 tracks to other Rock Band games.

The Beatles: Rock Band was released to critical acclaim and massive sales expectations, but some rhythm rockers prefer a variety of bands in their games. For those people, MTV Games and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today revealed the full 45-song setlist of their upcoming collaboration, Lego Rock Band.

The rumor is that Iggy Pop actually had to put on weight to play a Lego character.

Billed as a more family-friendly take on the Rock Band formula, Lego Rock Band features a diverse array of acts, from classics like Queen, David Bowie, and Elton John to more modern fare like All American Rejects, Pink, and Rascal Flatts. And as with previous Rock Band games (except for The Beatles), PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 players will be able to export the game's songs (for a nominal fee), saving them to the hard drive for use in other Rock Band titles. The console versions of Lego Rock Band will also support downloadable content from the Rock Band Music Store.

Lego Rock Band is set for release next month on the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, and DS and has been rated E10+ for Everyone 10 and Older. For more on the game, check out GameSpot's latest Lego Rock Band coverage.

So maybe we could have lego people sing Judas Priest and Colbert, but not the beatles? Still it's nice for the Legos to sing Judas priest.

Solid List I guess, but I guess the best feature about this game is that the songs can be exported ...

ef rockband, about half of these songs are in GH. mostly dissapointed about the lostprophets! what a coincidence it's the one in GH!

eh....i'm not too crazy about the setlist. i don't care if they aren't rock songs, i just want good songs. all 45--not just a couple!

oh and i forgot to say that most of these songs suck and are hardly even rock songs...seriously counting crows? lego you are responsible for encouraging bad musically taste in younguns!

i agree with yoshter...havent we had enough lego games already?!

As much as I like the song list, the Wii SERIOUSLY doesn't need a Lego version of Rockband! The best being the Rascal Flatts version of Life Is A Highway!

... all they need is an afi track pack with 85% of crash love, 85% of decemberunderground, and 85% percent of sing the sorrow, and a random insert of the safety dance, beach baby, dawn over a new world, if i ever leave this world alive, and screaming at the wailing wall, and its perfect!

i have literally fantasised of seeing titles like "the final countdown" "free fallin" and most importantly "i want you back" in a rock band game. now they are in! as well as some other amazing songs. but, alas... NO AFI! thats ok. i want you back and free fallin makes up for that.

Why wasn't Hanson and their song mmmbop included on that list? I find it hard to believe its not there. Perhaps it was left out accidentally :(

Whoot Bryan Adams!! Best Country Ever Eh!! lol But what is the big problem with the lego brand on it? It's got as much difference as RB2 did from the original

@ Azwethinkweiz89 They did write a song about that, but that doesn't means that every single song they made isn't family friendly.

It's a rhythm game aimed at kids, so Lego's, which are already established in the young'uns market (both with their actual stuff and the video games), are a great choice for Harmonix. Anyway, I hope there is some kind of export option because I'd love to "rock out" (if that's even possible) to Ghostbusters. Also Incubus, Foo Fighters, Blur, and Blink 182 songs while I'm at it. At the very least I hope these will become available in the Rock Band music store. **EDIT** Actually read the article and there will be an export option. Sweet!

The Lego idea is just a gimmick in this case.

Why do we even need this. It's Rockband with stupid lego characters. You buy the game for the songs not the stupid characters... LAME The Lego Adventure games are cool but I just don't get the Lego Rockband thing.

dang im really surprised at how good this list is! still not gettin obiviously, gonna get RB2 but hopefully ill be able to get alot of these on dlc. man theyv got queen, one of all american rejects best songs, bon jovi, the police, counting crows, jackson 5, spinal tap, kung fu fighting, elton john, and life is a highway(although rascal flatts' cover isnt as good as the original). this list is actually a near-epic win.

UGH! Ya know, I love Rock Band as a faux guitarist (I do wish people would stop with the argument about how its so fake, DUR, its a videogame, GTA is pretty freaking fake too), but they dropped the ball going with Rascal Flatts instead of Tom Cochrane on Life is a Highway. I just wanna go in the corner and cry now.

@NyGin07 How could you want a Lego guitar controller?

NyGin07

So we have been suffering for years now with this T rated, disgustingly censored Rockband only to be inundated with Lego Rock Band an obviously T rated, understandably censored game directed right at children and their parents..... so where is the M rated Rock Band for regular adults and music aficionados?

PixelAddict

So here's my guess on how the concept meeting went... 1st Exec: Ok, how about we take two franchises that are getting more and more beaten to death and COMBINE them? 2nd Exec: If it will be boring, then I'm still listening... 3rd Exec: Are we talking about Super Mario on a Halo ring? 1st Exec: No no, hear me out... we take an extremely fake plastic instrument game and make it EVEN MORE fake by adding fake plastic Legos! 2nd Exec: Wow - it will sell like a fake blanket with SLEEVES!!!! 3rd Exec: Perfect - let's go get Starbucks!

prdroog
prdroog

I disagree with this whole concept....-and there are only a handful of good songs from both set lists combined.

guitardude1243

Might consider buying it and then exporting the songs.
