The Finnish game developer and The LEGO Group on Monday announced a partnership for a new line of physical LEGO toys based on the bird-flinging strategy game series. The first of the toy sets will debut in spring 2016 alongside the full-length Angry Birds movie.

According to Rovio, Angry Birds is the "most downloaded mobile game ever." Back in 2012, it reached an incredible 1 billion downloads.

Unfortunately, neither Rovio nor LEGO shared any images of the Angry Birds LEGO sets. But LEGO executive Jill Wilfert did tease that the Angry Birds LEGO toys will, as you might expect, riff on the "deconstruction" nature of the games.

"Our designers are having fun developing building sets that leverage the engaging play and deconstruction found in the Angry Birds game," she said in a statement.

In terms of new LEGO video games, the next installment in the core series is LEGO Jurassic World, which launches this coming Friday alongside the new movie. If you're looking to play a new LEGO game right away, however, you can try out LEGO Worlds. This open-ended, Minecraft-style title is available now through Steam Early Access.
